Surfs Up Duck!

Happy Thursday everyone!  Allison Cope here!

I thought today I'd create with this adorable little surfing cutie, our "Surfing Duck" digital stamp.

1.  I printed out my digital stamp and sentiment on my inkjet computer onto 65# white cardstock.
2.  I die cut the shape around my digital image.
3.  After taking my die cut shape out of the die, I masked all the edges so I could ink the back ground.
4.  I created a mask for my little duckie.  You can print your image out onto a post-it note paper and fussy cut it out OR masking paper.
5.  I added my mask to my duck and then I used Distress Oxide inks (sky: Tumbled Glass, Blueprint Sketch;  land: Tea dye, Vintage Photo;  water: Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch) to create my background.  Then I used some white acrylic paint and White Gel Pen to add the white to the waves.

6.  I removed the mask and colored in my duckie with Copic Markers.
7.  I also added some colored pencil grass to my sandy dune.
8.  Patterned Paper dimensions:
  • Chevron: 4 3/16" x 5 7/16"
  • Starry: 1 1/2" x 5 7/16"
  • Starry Mat: 1 5/8" x 5 7/16"
9.  I added my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you get lots of time to create this weekend!

Surf's Up Summer Card by Karla

Hello friends! Karla back today with a super cool card using the Gerda Steiner Designs Surfing Duck digital stamp. This little guy is having such a blast with his awesome surf board! I'm sure he's going to put a smile on anyone's face. You can even find this cutie with a few extra images as a clear stamp Catch A Wave 3x4 Stamp in the shop now!

I found the perfect paper using the Simple Stories Sunshine & Blue Skies collection and used one of the stickers as my sentiment. I popped up a cute little blue starfish and added some fun Stickles for glittery shine. I diecut a sunshine, waves and sand to complete the little beach scene.

I used a Smash pen to draw in some details on his surf board and coloured him in with Copics. A bit of Glossy Accents on his sunglasses complete the card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to head over to the Gerda Steiner Designs Shop to see what catches your eye today. Have an awesome week my friends!

Hugs,
Karla

Summer Splash with Digistamps

Hello everyone!

How are you? Enjoying the summer heat? If so, I have the perfect summer splash cards for you! :) Have you already played along in the Instagram Surf Challenge with this little ducky?! You can enter your projects until tomorrow to have a chance for winning the upcoming new stamp set. Simply add the hashtag #surfingducky to your card!

I hope this little one here will inspire you a bit :)

I created a beach scene with some fishies from the Lucky Duck stamp set. Just simply mask off at the horizon line and add matching colors above / under it. After that, I grabbed my cloud die and placed the sentiment on the the paper cloud piece. If you add glossy accents on the sunglasses of the duck, you'll get a nice finishing touch!

And just because I love masking so much, I created a similar scene with my second digistamp. This little guy is this months challenge digistamp, you have 3 more days to enter your projects at the june challenge! I thought: why not placing him on an ice floe, just like he'd do in his natural environment ;) maybe he just wants to invite Mrs. Penguin to polar picnic :)

Got a little fresh breeze on a hot day like this? (we haven't had such a hot period in a long time over here in northern germany..uff!)

Have a great day!
