Hi

Hi there,

it's Tanja here for you and I would like to show you this cute little card. I combined two stamp sets to create a little scene:

  • stamp the cute little dog from the Gerda Steiner Designs Howl are you stamp set and the butterfly from the Gerda Steiner Designs Happy Spring stamp set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and color the images and the grass with Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers
  • create a cloudy sky using Jaxell Soft Pastels, a cloud mask and a white pompom
  • add details with a white gel pen
  • cut out the "hi" directly from the stitched panel and cut it three more times from blue cardstock - layer the cardstock pieces on top of each other and puzzle them back into the die cut space
I hope you got inspired.

Yours,

Happy Mother's day!

Hi there!!

It's Yolanda here, from Scraping Time!! I am sure that you really enjoyed our Blog Hop since the new stamps sets are just out of this world!!

I know I will use them a lot since I can't stop thinking about different scenes to create, but today, I want to finish the game I started fifteen days ago with my crafty friends on Facebook.
You can read my last post here, where I told you about it but mainly, I proposed them to choose one of five Gerda Steiner Designs stamps sets and the one who got more likes was this:

Then they proposed me three topics to work with it: you had a bad day, book day and the last one: Mother Day. Here in Spain we celebrate it on the first Sunday of May so it is going to be very soon.

I thought about it and I decided to use two siblings for my scene! They were going to say something nice to their mom!

And this is the card I created:

First of all, I die cut a false stitched rectangle on a white cardstock and I inked some clouds with Memento Blue Sky Ink. Then, I die cut my pink grass in two different decorated papers from Lawn Fawn. After that, I set my dogs with foam squares on the grass. I added some Wink of Stella Clear and Glossy accents on the noses and the dog collar. And it was time to stamp the sentiment.

I die cut a cloud and a balloon bubble and I stamped both sentiments. The first one is from the Happy Hoppy  4x6 Bunny Stamp Set  (You are simply the best) and the second one is a mixture of a couple of sets. Firstly, I stamped the "love you" stamp from the "Brush bunny" stamp set and I added a couple of "u" since I really love the idea of the original set where the dog is singing Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuuuu!!! And I thought it could be cute to copy it!
But... I haven't got any alphabet or sentiment with the same font that the ones I had used so I look at the set carefully and I realised I could make it!
Then I stamped the two first letters from Wonderful (WO) upside down and I stamped again the W to read MOM.

I do this a lot with the stamps and dies. I love giving them a second life!! ;)

I hope you enjoyed with this card and see you soooooooooooooon!!!

Books and dogs!!

Hi there!

it's Yolanda here from Scraping Time!  Today I come with an unusual post! Last weekend I decided to play a game with my crafty friends on Facebook (you can read it here)
I showed them 5 stamps sets from Gerda Steiner Designs and I told them that I would work with the one who got more "likes" during the weekend for this post! And the first one was the "Howl are you? Puppy Clearstamp Set" followed by the "Lucky duck 4x6 Clearstamp set". Then, I started working with the dogs and I also accepted the challenge to make a project with the topic they suggested there!

There were three main topics on the comments!

1. Asiul Prince suggested: Something was wrong! Never mind, go ahead!. I had made a card with this topic some weeks ago (you can see it here)

2. Pilar Cruz suggested: Happy mother's day!

3. Aroa Blanco suggested: Book day.

I decided to make something with them. I will show you one today and the second one in my next post.

When a read "book day" I thought: whattttttt???? Dogs and book day????? You must be joking! hahaha but I decided to accept the challenge and this is what I made mixing it with the first suggestion!

Yes, it is a bookmark! We are going to celebrate Book Day on next 23rd April and this can be a good present for a friend.

I made the book mark thinking that the dog would be over the book all the time. So I stick it on the up border with double side tape, once I made the bookmark.

I show you more...

I love that cuttie traying to relax after a a "ruff day" Isn't it sweet???? I never thought about using this set for this purpose but I really enjoyed thinking about it and making this bookmark! I think you can use any critter with the same structure.

By the way, I coloured the dog with Spectrum Noir markers so I stamped again the dog on the same orange decorated paper, fussy cut it and stick it behind the dog to avoid seeing the marker on the back side of the dog.

I hope you had a good time reading this post and of course, have a great week!!

Video: Tri-Fold Birthday Card + Stenciling

Hi guys, it's Emily Cupely here!! I hope you are having a great Spring break! I finally had some time to make a tri-fold card with some masking and stenciling. I think the final card turned out beautifully, specially the inside part where I decorated all three panels instead of just the central one. All the stenciling along with the adorable puppies from the Howl Are You stamp set and the pop of color in the balloons will hopefully have a nice impact in the recipient :) I hope you all enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it!

Happy bunny-birthday!

Hi there!

It's Yolanda here, from Scraping Time. Today, I have made a card with some stamps from different sets: "Just sentiments", "Howl are you, puppy?", "Happy hoppy 4x6 bunny" and  "Brush bunny" stamp sets.

All these stamps can be combined easily and I really had fun playing whit these cutties!

I really love these sets and I wasn't able to choose just one so I decided to play a little bit with my dies and make a window on the main panel of the card. I  used a false stitched square die and I did partial die cutting with my Big Shot. Then I stamped and created the first part of the scene.
The sentiment is so cute and I love how it looks stamped with Versafine ink.
I made some clouds with Memento Blue Sky ink before making the window and I coloured my image with Spectrum Noir Markers. I love the hearts stamp!!!!!! What a cute complement for this set!!!!

But then, when you open the window, you find the second part of the card and sentiment.

The "to youuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!" sentiment was a bit long for the space I had so I masked a part and stamped just some of the "u".

I tried to continue the scene inside, so I made the same clouds. And I added a carrot to the balloon... just for fun!! :))

I  think, you can use this card to put a gift card hidden into the window or making there a shaker. Your creativity is the limit! ;)

I hope you have enjoyed with my card and have a good week! See you soon!

Video: DIY stencil + B&W with a pop of color

Hello everybody!! Emily Cupely here with a video tutorial where I created my own stencil to decorate the background of my card. Also, I used only black and white as the main colors in my card, including the colors I used in my adorable puppy from the Howl Are You stamp set. Added just a pop of color, in this case red, which really stands out over the black and white. I hope you enjoy the video tutorial below! :)

Happy birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuu!!!

Hi there!

It's Yolanda here, from Scraping Time. You know that I love shakers and today I am going to show you a very "sweet" one since the fill of the shaker is that... sweet ...

I used colourful sprinkles for this Birthday card. I love trying new fills for my shakers!!

First of all, I die cut the structure of the card in watercolor paper. I wanted to make a couple of windows on my panel before working on the stamps.

Then I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment on the acetate with Stazon ink from the "Just sentiments" Clear Stamps set before stamping the second part of my sentiment with Versafine ink on my watercolor false stitched rectangle. And, of course, I used the tiny bone again today. They are just adorable!!

Once I finished that part, I stamped the dog from the "Howl are you? Puppy" clear stamp set and coloured it with Spectrum Noir markers. For the grass, I inked a piece of cardstock with Lawn Fawn "celery stick" ink. I used the same ink for the false stitched rectangle under the second part of the sentiment.

I used a decorated paper for the background from Lawn Fawn and I put a double layer of foam to get a good movement of my card when you shake it!!

I hope you have enjoyed and maybe... you give it a try!!

See you soon!!

Birthday Card with Puppy and Zig Clean Color Pens

Dog Birthday Card by Jess Gerstner featuring Gerda Steiner Designs

Hello crafty friends! It's Jess from JessCrafts.com. Today I'm sharing a simple birthday card featuring the new Howl Are You? stamp set. I love all these cute puppies but you can mix it with some other sets to make them perfect for special occasions. This puppy looks like he is sniffing around for some birthday cake or maybe birthday bones. I stamped the bones in white pigment ink. You can find out a bit more about the card in the video below.

As mentioned in the video I used Zig Clean Color pens for the coloring. They are great for fast coloring and you don't have to be a coloring expert to achieve great blends.

Non-red Valentine's cards!

Hi there!

It's Yolanda here, from Scraping Time. I imagine all of you making Valentine's cards! I love this kind of cards but this year, I decided to try new colours apart from red or pink for my Valentine's!! What about brown??

For my cards, I have used some stamps from different sets:

Let me show you the first one! Since I saw the bulldog I fell in love to it!! It seems to be so sad and angry and I feel like hugging and sending some love!! That's why I decided to make a card with soft colours and a big heart!!

I love small stamps to make backgrounds and you have three of them in this set. They are adorable! With the cute bones I made a heart. Firstly, I draw a soft line with my pencil using a heart die. Then, I stamped the dog and masked it with masking paper because I wanted to hide two of the bones behind the legs. Then I stamped the whole heart and erased the pencil. I stamped the sentiment and coloured the bones and dog with Spectrum Noir markers.  A bit of Glossy Accent on the nose and that's all!!  I hope he feels better now!! ;) But just in case... I stamped a cute sentiment from one of the new stamp sets into the card.

I love the sketch look of the "Ruff day?" sentiment.

Then, I played a little bit with the cute ducks from one of the new stamps sets that you can find on the shop. I think I will use this set a lot in spring and summer but I wanted to give it a try just now.

I love paper piecing and it´s very easy to fussy cut these ducks. I made the sea background with distress inks, water and a piece of acetate. Then I used a wood decorated paper and some brads for my panel. I love the font from the sentiment. It is so nice!

I hope you enjoyed my cards for today and see you soon!!

If you are here, I am sure that you really enjoy with Gerda Steiner Designs' products so it could be a great opportunity to apply for being a Guest Designer on March!
