Hello crafty friends! My name is Kelsey Thomas and I am so happy to be guest designing for Gerda Steiner Designs.
I am excited to share my first card using the Whale of a Time stamps and dies (you can also find them as a bundle). I started off by stamping all of the images from the stamp set onto some white cardstock using Altenew's Obsidian Black Pigment Ink.
After waiting for the ink to dry, I colored the images using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (see the photo for the colors used) and a white gel pen and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
Next, I got to work on my background. I decided to make a slimline card so I could fit all of the images. I used a fancy stitched rectangle die from my stash to cut a background panel from dark blue cardstock. I then stamped a water background stamp using embossing ink and embossed it using a sparkly blue embossing powder. To create a sandy bottom for my scene, I used a stitched hillside die and cut from light brown cardstock. I used a combination of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and my white gel pen to create a sand effect and even stamped the starfish from the Whale of a Time set using a light brown ink.
Next, I arranged all of my fun whales and the starfish on my card base. I cut out some foliage dies to add a fun element to the background and make the scene more complete.
To finish off the card, I stamped out a sentiment from the stamp set and fussy cut around it. I glued everything to the card and added a few gems for an extra touch.
I hope you enjoyed the card and are inspired to create your own fun underwater scene!
Happy crafting!
Kelsey
