Owl rather be with you - Owl you doing - Larissa

Hi everyone, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and today I am posting a new card on the blog from Gerda Steiner designs. This week I have made a card with the clear stamp set Owl rather be with you from Gerda Steiner designs. I have stamped one of the owls and then I coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils and the black glaze pen. I have fussy cut the image.

With the Crea-nest-lies XXL 49 from Crealies I have cut a circle from green patterned paper from the Spring chic paperpack (retired) from Me to you and I glued it on a kraft card. I used 2 smaller circles dies from the set Crea-nest-lies XXL 49 from Crealies and I used them cut a circle frame from kraft cardstock. I have glued the image on the circle with the patterned paper and then I glued the circle frame on top of it. I used a black fineliner to doodle lines on the edges of the kraft card. From black cardstock I have cut a funny sentiment with the Alphabet 2 Lowercase (1075-retired) from Elizabeth Craft and I glued it under the image on the card.

Who's thinking about you! - Larissa

Goodmorning, today I am posting a new card on the blog from Gerda Steiner designs. This time I made a valentines card and that is why I used a lot of hearts and pink (but you probably already saw that ;) ).

I have used one of the cute owls from the set Owl rather be with you from Gerda Steiner designs on my card. After I stamped the owl, I coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils and the black glaze pen. With a white gelpen I have added a couple of dots on the cheek of the owl. Then I have fussy cut the image.
With the Square CDECD0022 Cutting dies from Card deco essentials I have die-cut a square from white cardstock. I added faux stitching with a black pen. From a couple of sheets from the Classic gingham, Striped silly and Polka dot parade paperpack from Sunny studio I have die-cut a couple of little hearts with the Heart CDECD0024 Cutting dies from Card deco essentials. I have stitched the hearts with embroidery thread on the white sqaure and then I glued the square with foamtape on a white card. I have die-cut a bigger heart with the Heart CDECD0024 Cutting dies from Card deco essentials from white cardstock. I added more faux stitching on the heart and then I glued the heart with foamtape on my card. I glued the image on the heart. The sentiment is also from the stampset Owl rather be with you from Gerda Steiner designs.

Shadow Box Card with Laura

Hi everyone! It's Laura here, and today I am back with a fun birthday card and a video I made using the Gerda Steiner Designs Owl Rather Be With You stamp set! I was so fascinated by Jennifer McGuire's tutorial about shadow box cards, that I had to give it a shot!
As a first step we stamped my images with Black Licorice Hybrid ink by My Favorite Things on Neenah Solar White Cardstock and colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers. I then fussy cut them with my EK Success Cutterbee Scissors.

For the two cloudy backgrounds I used a cloud stencil and Distress Oxides, which I blended with my Distress Ink Blending Brushes. For the blue sky I used Peacock Feathers and Tumble Glass, and for the red/yellow sky I used Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey and Fired Brick.
I added some subtle shimmer to both backgrounds using Perfect Pearls: I used the color Perfect Pearl on the blue sky, and Perfect Copper on the red sky.

I then used the a circular frame die to cut a circle out of the red sky. I used the same die to obtain the brown frame.
For the shadow box itself you are going to need two panels, which I created out of white cardstock.
The first one measures 4.25x10.5" and is scored at 4.25"
The second one measures 4.25"x11", and is scored at 0.5", 4.25" and 4.75". Because this is the panel that will form the shadow box, I die cut a rectangular opening. The opening should be created on the side between the 0.5" and the 4.25" score lines.

Before assembling the shadow box I stamped the sentiment on the front of my card. This would be the 4.25"x5.5" side of the panel with one score line only. I used the sentiments from the Owl Rather Be With You set that read "Whooo...is" "having a Birthday", and stamped them with My Favorite Things Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. I also stamped the "You are!" sentiment from the same set on a banner that I die cut from some white cardstock.

I assembled my shadow box (you can see how in the video tutorial down below), and then I decorated it with the stamped images and all the elements I had previously created. I also wanted to mention that I backed the window of the shadow box with some acetate, so that the owl, the branch and the sentiment banner would be nicely supported.

And that's my card for today! As I mentioned earlier, I created a video for this card, you can watch it down below!

And that's it for today! I really hope you guys liked this card and enjoyed the post and the video! Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Whoo gives a hoot about age? - Happy birthday - Larissa

Goodmorning, today I am posting a new card on the blog from Gerda Steiner designs. This time I made a birthday card for someone who will be celebrating her 50th birthday soon. I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the card. On the inside I stamped the sentiment Happy birthday. I used 5 different stampsets to make this card. The owl and branch are from the set Owl rather be with you from Gerda Steiner designs. The present is from the stampset Monster fun from Gerda Steiner designs. The delicious cake is from the set Party animals from Gerda Steiner designs. I have used a partyhat from the set Dachshunds from Gerda Steiner designs. The balloon is from the stampset Happy hoppy from Gerda Steiner designs and I decorated it with black number stickers.I have coloured all the images with my Polychromos pencils and the black glaze pen and then I have fussy cut them all.

With the Crea-nest-lies XXL 44 from Crealies I have diecut a rectangle from yellow design paper from the Perfectly plaid spring paperpad from Lawn fawn. I glued it on a kraft card. With the Crea-nest-lies XXL 49 from Crealies I have die-cut a circle from white cardstock. I made a background on it with the Mini cloud edges stencil from My favorite things and Tumbled glass distress ink. I have diecut a scalloped circle from kraft cardstock with the Crea-nest-lies XXL 53 from Crealies and glued the circle with the images on it. The sentiment is made on the computer and after I printed it I added a frame around it with a black pen. I glued the sentiment on kraft cardstock and then I glued it on the card.

Goodmorning, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and today I am posting a new card on the blog from Gerda Steiner designs. This time I made a card with the new cute stampset Owl rather be with you from Gerda Steiner designs.

I stamped an owl and the branch and then I coloured them with my Polychromos pencils and the black glaze pen. I have fussy cut both images. I have cut 3 circle frames from white cardstock with the Die-namics stitched mini scallo circle stax from My favorite things and the Crea-nest-lies XXL 7 from Crealies and glued those on top of each other. I have c ut a circle from masking paper and placed the other part with the circle hole in it on a white card and made a background for the image with Tumbled glass, Broken china and Faded jeans distress ink. Then I glued the frame on the card and glued the images inside the frame. I have diecut a little heart from red cs with the Mini hearts set from Simon says stamp and I glued that on the wing of the owl. Under the circle frame I stamped a sentiment from the set Crazy talk from Stampers anonymous.

Happy Birthday Owl

Hi there,

it's Tanja here and I would like to show you some projects using the adorable new Gerda Steiner Designs stamp sets over the next couple of weeks. This first card uses one of the owls from the Gerda Steiner Designs Owl rather be with you set:

  • color one of the owls and a branch from the Gerda Steiner Designs Owl rather be with you set with Faber-Castell Albrecht-Dürer pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • add highlights with a white gel pen
  • cut out a stitched panel from watercolor paper and stamp three balloons from the Gerda Steiner Designs Happy Hoppy set with Versafine Smokey Gray
  • color the balloons and the background with Distress Oxide Re-Inkers (Peacock Feathers, Worn Lipstick, Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass)
  • stamp the sentiment from the Gerda Steiner Designs Happy Hoppy set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Primary Parma Violet
  • layer the watercolor panel on top of a piece of Distress Cardstock Dusty Concord before adhering it to a cardbase
  • glue on some natural twine as balloon strings

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
