Warm Wishes | Jeannie Lieu

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today sharing another card. Although Christmas is over, I couldn't resist pulling out a couple stamp sets to create a wintery scene since it's been so chilly where I live. I pulled out Smell Like Christmas and On the Table stamp sets to create a fun scene.

I stamped out a draft version so I could see how I wanted to place everything in my scene so I could do some masking. It really helps if you're a beginner to masking or just don't want to mess up the order of stamping.

I wanted to use the cute mouse and the coffee cup for my scene because anytime it is cold outside, I really enjoy a nice warm drink. The rest just came together. I thought the kitty from the On the Table stamp set was perfect since I had the little mouse on a table. He's adorable and I believe he's staring at the cookies all over the table instead of the mouse. My sister thinks otherwise though.

Although Christmas might be over, I try to use the wintery sets for other cards too so I don't only pull them out for Christmas cards. I know that the little mouse might have a Santa hat on but I think the main purpose of the card is to send warm wishes.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create. Come back again soon for more inspiration and ideas! Happy Crafting!

Smells like Christmas with Kaja

Hi there,
It's Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I have a sweet Christmas card for you! :)

Take a look:
I used a cute little mouse from Smell like Christmas stamp set and I stamped it out using Memento tuxido black ink. Then, I colored the image in using alcohol markers. I decided to use traditional Christmas colors so I colored his clothes in red and green.

Next, I used my scissors to cut out the image and placed it in the middle of the square card base.
For the sentiment I decided to use 'It's begining to smell a lot like' sentiment which I heat embossed in white and a word 'Christmas' which I stamped out using red ink.

Then, I added a piece of striped black and white patterned paper on the left hand side of the card.

I positioned everything on the card using double sided tape and foam tape which finnished off the card.

Thank you so much for joining me and I hope to see you again soon!

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hi there,

Gerda Steiner Designs is joining the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and the design team came up with some wonderful creations to inspire you.

  • stamp the adorable little reindeer from the Gerda Steiner Designs Holiday Friends set and three coffee cups from the Gerda Steiner Designs You're Koalafied set with Memento Tuxedo Black - use the Masking Technique
  • color the image with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
  • add highlights with a white gel pen
  • cut out a stitched panel from Bristol Smooth cardstock and create a plaid background using the My Favorite Things Plaid Background Builder, Altenew Crisp Ink (Frayed Leaf, Buttercream), the Darkroom Door Stitched Borders, Versamark and WOW! Gold Rich Super Fine embossing powder
  • create a custom-sentiment with stamps from the Gerda Steiner Designs Holiday Friends and Gerda Steiner Designs You're Koalafied set, Versamark and WOW! Bright White Super Fine and WOW! Gold Rich Super Fine embossing powder
  • mount the panel onto a piece of dark green cardstock before adhering it to a cardbase

I made a card with the stamp set Smells like Christmas from Gerda Steiner Designs
I have colored the images with my Polychromos pencils and for the background I have used Derwent aquatone pencils
I used a white gel pen to draw dots on the cup. I have fussy cut the images.
From green, red and white cardstock I have die-cut a couple of circles with the Crea-nest-lies XXL 41, 49 and 53 from Crealies
The sentiments are from the stamp set Beary Happy Holidays from Lawn fawn. I stamped those on white cardstock and after I cut them I adhered them on green cardstock.
The cardshape is called a cornercard. I saw the instructions on YouTube. It was really fun and easy to make, but it is not the easiest card to take a decent picture of.
With a white gel pen I added faux stitching on the red panels. The snowflakes are from the stampset Beary Happy Holidays from Lawn fawn. I stamped them with Versamark ink and then I embossed them with white embossing powder.
You can fold the card flat and send it in a normal envelope.

When I was thinking about the coffee-lovers theme, I looked at my stamps and found this mug from the Gerda Steiner Designs Smell like Christmas stamp set. I thought it would be just perfect, if one were in a very cold surrounding and would be offered a steaming hot beverage. This is how I came to pair the cup with the cute penguin from last year's December/January Digital Stamp Bundle ;o) I created the background scene free hand following a video tutorial by Sandy Allnock and stamped the sentiment right on the horizon line.

The first card was colored using Copic markers, the sentiment was created on my computer. I fussy cut the dinosaur and popped him onto foam tape for dimension.

The second card was also colored with Copic markers. I added the spots on his scarf with a white gel pen and finally I used glossy accents to raise the heart on his coffee cup... what a cutie!

Thanks for stopping by.

It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas

Hi there,

it's Tanja here and I just couldn't wait to color the adorable little mouse from the new Gerda Steiner Designs Smell like Christmas set:

  • stamp the adorable little mouse from the Gerda Steiner Designs Smell like Christmas set with Versafine Onyx Black onto a stitched panel of watercolor paper and color the image with Derwent Inktense pencils
  • stamp the first part of the sentiment from the same set with Versafine Onyx Black and the second part with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Gold Rich Super Fine embossing powder
  • cut the panel apart with one of the Avery Elle Dotted Borders dies
  • adhere a strip of pink patterned paper behind the panel and mount everything onto a Neenah Desert Storm kraft cardbase

I hope you got inspired.

Yours,
