Thinking of You!

Hi everyone!  I'm Beverly and I am delighted to come back today to share another cute way to use the adorable Cup of Love stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs!  When I chose this blue tiled paper by Recollections, I knew exactly which stencil I would use in the background - Stamp Mosaic from A Colorful Life Designs.  I mixed few drops of reinker with water to create the splatters.  Just tap your wet watercolor brush across your finger to splat color!  Now here's how I paper pieced the tea cup:

Once the glue was dry on the tea cup, I was ready to color the mouse and the interior of the cup.  I found the right match for the cup in my Prismacolor Pencils (PC1087).  The mouse is colored with Copic markers COO, CO, C1, and RVOO.  Now the mouse is ready for a little extra dimension attention as follows:

Next, the cup was mounted on a die cut circle with foam tape, and the complete circle was glued atop the stenciling on the card.

"Thinking of You" was stamped with VersaFine Onyx on Neenah Classic cardstock, and trimmed wide enough for the sentiment before layer on a coordinating strip of cardstock to pull everything together!

It has truly been my pleasure to be asked to Guest Design here at Gerda Steiner Designs!  Now here's to your next opportunity to enjoy some sweet paper crafting time!

Thanks for your visit!

I just miss you...

...A LOT!! I totally fell in love with this stamp set the second I saw it! I knew right away this was going to be a card for my son from our Great Dane Maggie!

The name of this set is I Just Miss You A Lot and it will be in the Gerda Steiner store soon! Keep an eye out for it, all you dog lovers! It's just too cute!!

First I stamped and only colored the adorable pup in the image with Copic markers. I knew I wanted to paper piece the dog bed so there was no reason to color it.

I stamped the image again onto a piece of pattern paper and then added some shadows and dimension with Copic markers.

I fussy cut the images out and attached them to the background circle with foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment onto light green cardstock using an ink a few shades darker then the paper. I added it just under my image and then it was done! Oh...and I added a few hearts above the puppy dogs head!

Super fun to color and such an easy card to make!

I Just Miss You - Catherine

Hello friends,

Today I'm sharing a card using the new 'I Just Miss You Puppy' stamp set.

I love dogs so any stamp set with a puppy included is always a winner for me!

To create this card, I cut a light blue piece of card into a square for my base. I then die-cut a stitched square using kraft cardstock.

Using the sentiment included in the set, I stamped in black ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder over the top to add shine and dimension.
Next, I adhered the kraft piece onto the blue piece and adhered them onto a square card base.

I stamped and coloured the adorable puppy portion of the image using Copic markers. For his little bed, I used the paper piecing technique and added a little shading where the dog's shadow would be.

The image was then attached to the card using foam tape and that completed the card. This was a nice simple card but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I hope you like it!

Thank you for stopping by today, have a great weekend!

Baby's 1st Christmas - Catherine

Hello friends!

I'm back today to share a pair of cards I made using the sweet stamp set called Baby Girl Christmas.

I decided to make 2 cards at the same time to bulk up my stash, keeping them very similar to make it quicker and easier.

To create these cards, the first thing I did was stamp these sweet images onto Neenah solar white card and colour them in using Copic markers. The Scan n Cut machine did not like these images so I fussy cut them out instead. I also used the paper piecing method to add detail to the cute little outfit she's wearing. I drew the pattern detail onto the ribbon with a fine black pen and then coloured it.

Using a woodgrain paper that I have, I cut a strip for each card to create the floor for the baby to sit on. I then chose 2 different patterned papers to use for the walls.

The fireplace was die-cut using this die-set. I kept the fireplace a simple white and cut a small piece of light grey card as a contrast for the inside of the fireplace. The stockings, wood and grate were all coloured in using Copics. When these pieces were all ready, I adhered them all to create the completed fireplaces and set them aside.

Time to assemble the cards! The wood 'floors' were adhered to the bottom of the cards and then the 'wallpaper' on top of that. Next I heat embossed the sentiment from the stamp set onto opposite sides of the cards. At this point I also decided to use the small snowflake stamp in the set to add some detail to the red gift box. These were heat embossed also.

Next, the completed fireplaces were adhered into place, followed by the sweet baby who was adhered using foam tape for dimension. Foam tape was also used to adhere the baby's bottle and pacifier.
This completes the cards for today.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Paper Pieced Vrooming By...

 Hello Everyone,

Its Hazel from Didos Designs here today with a card made using the sweet Vrooming By Stamp Set.
I wanted to show you today what you can do using the stamps rather than the digi version of this card. I have paper pieced it so that the image matches the background papers.

To paper piece you just stamp the image on the backing papers, fussy cut them, and then glue onto the main image picture and you have a well matched image and card. My image has some colouring using my promarkers on it too.

Its just one of the ways that using an acrylic stamp can be different from just printing out the image and colouring in.

Thanks for dropping by today, I hope I have inspired you to get paper piecing.
