Guest Design - Deck the halls by Izzy Scrap

Bonjour !

Izzy Scrap here today with some inspiration ! I'm back with a new guest designing post for Gerda Steiner Designs.

Today I'm featuring the Reindeer & a tree  stamp set. It includes six adorable reindeers, a Christmas tree, Santa and few ornaments. For my card I only used the reindeers, all of them, and the ornaments. In a few days it will be the countdown to Christmas, and we will start by decorating the tree and the house.

This year will be a bit different because of the Sanitary situation, we are not sure to be able to spend Christmas day with our families because of the lockdown. So, to stay in the weird, I imagined a Christmas tree with a pyramid of reindeers !

With a lot of masking, I stamped the reindeers one by one starting by the bottom of the pyramid (left and right) and going up. Before taking off all the masks I also stamped the floor and I blended a soft pink touch of ink for the wall.

Then I removed the masks and I coloured the reindeers and the floor with colour pencils. For the ornaments I used some glitter pens.

I stamped the sentiment in two shades of red, then I heat embossed it with clear powder. I also hung a little star from this sentiment.

To finish I adhered a pattern paper on the double card and I glued the image on top. Aren't they funny these adorable reindeers ? I especially hope that they will bring a smile to the recipient.

Et voilĂ  ! I've been very happy and delighted to share my cards with you this month. Again, a very huge thank you to Gerda and her team for welcoming me.

Wishing you a beautiful and crafty day !

Izzy

Only For You

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today with one of the latest release from Gerda Steiner. This stamp set is called Only for You. If you follow me here on the blog, you'll know that I adore the smaller stamp sets because of how much I can do with them.

I immediately had the idea to stamp the kitty peeping from the heart and reverse stamp it so they were peeking through wall windows. Of course, this idea led to a scene card where the main kitty in sitting in front of the wall.

Once I stamped out the entire scene, I worked on the background using distress inks and masking paper. I love how this turned out and how pink this is.

This card is so fun and these kitties are just too adorable not to love!

I have a process video to show the steps as well! Check it out!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create. Come back again soon for more inspiration and ideas! Happy Crafting!

You Lift Me Up | Jeannie Lieu

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today a fun new card with one of the newer Gerda Steiner Designs stamp set named You Lift Me Up. I laughed when I first saw this card and thought it was such a fun one. How many of us have said the phrase "when pigs fly"? I know I have.

This is one of the smaller stamp sets and if you follow me, you know that I love Gerda's smaller sets because you really can do so much with them and I usually utilize all the images and sentiments.

For this particular card, I kept it really simple stamping out the pig and the balloon. I wanted a fun background but not too simple, and I achieved that by masking. I used a bunch of rectangular dies and masking paper combined with distress inks to color up the background. I haven't tried this technique before but I think it turned out to be pretty fun, don't you think?

I have a couple of other ideas for this set so I hope you enjoyed today's card and I'll be back with more soon!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create. Come back again soon for more inspiration and ideas! Happy Crafting!

Ode to Maggie! On the Table.

This is a sight I have seen in real life. Our family owns a Great Dane. Her name is Maggie and her nose is counter height even when she is on all fours. No counter or tabletop is safe in this house! Countless dinners and snacks have gone 'missing' with this gentle giant as a pet!

When is saw On the Table stamps I was in love!

For this card, I started by stamping the two cupcakes and creates masks for each. Then I stamped to plate of cookies masked it and then stamped the puppy dog and masked her, too. I masked off below the images and then stamped the stripe background stamps. I then colored the images with Copic markers and finished drawing the table top on each side of the cupcakes.

I used my lightest color markers to create a glow and a bit of a shadow behind the scene.
I used colored pencils to add a little bit more detail to my coloring!

Thanks for checking out my card! Now, get stamping!
