Hello! It's Lisa Lahiff here again, and I am so very honored to be Guest Designing here with Gerda Steiner Designs! I can never tell you enough just how much I LOVE the adorable critter stamps that can be found in the store, and the one I'm working with today (Turtley Great) is no different!
To create this card I started by stamping my turtle and sentiment with Versafine ink onto watercolor cardstock. Next, I spritzed some colors onto a piece of plastic, I like to keep packaging from stamp sets specifically for this technique. I then laid my cardstock stamped side down onto the ink and smooshed it in. I would let it dry before smooshing the colors again. I still wanted my turtle to have some set green so once it was all dry I went over the turtle with my Spectrum Noir markers. I then adhered my panel onto various strips of patterned paper and finished it with a few glitter enamel dots.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I've inspired you to maybe try a new technique or add coloring to your smooshing :). And don't forget to check out the new sets coming to the store, I already have my eyes on the cute new ghosts!
Happy Crafting!
Lisa

Gerda Steiner designs - My first memory dex card with Turtly great
Goodmorning, today I am posting a new project on the blog from Gerda Steiner designs. This time I have made a card for my Memory dex. At the moment these are a big hype in the Netherlands and since I thought it would be fun to make cards for the Memory dex I also purchased one. I think it is a nice way to try new techniques, but it is also perfect for making little scenes like I did today.
On my memory dex card I have used stams from the set Turtly great from Gerda Steiner designs. I have coloured the images with my Polychromos pencils and then I have fussy cut them all. My memory dex card is made with the Stencils SL120 from Studio light. I have die-cut the same shape from green design paper and then I have die-cut it with the Grassy hills from My favorite things to make a grass edge. For the sky I used lightblue design paper. Both papers are from the Gingham-linen rainbow petite prints from Doodlebug. I have die-cut a couple of mini clouds from white cardstock with the Mini clouds from Memory box (retired) and I adhered those in the sky I have die-cut a couple of flowers from yellow design paper and decorated those with orange enamel dots from the Enamel stickers Sending sunshine from Create a smile stamps. The sentiment is from the set So to speak from Clearly besotted stamps.

Turtley Great Time...
Hi Everyone,
Its Hazel from Didos Designs back once again using the super sweet Turtley Great Stamp set for a couple of creations.
I love this set. (But then I love all the sets that Gerda Designs!!! ) How cute is the turtle and his friends.
My first creation is a cute wee shadow box.
For my second creation I had a play with alternative colours for a turtle. So hes a bright rainbow guy.
Thats the joys of colouring, you can use whatever colours you like. I added a wee party hat on this one. Its from the Daschunds Stamp Set. Love that you can mix and match all Gerda's collections. They compliment each other so well.
I watercoloured the background and then fussy cut the turtle out. You can buy dies here that coordinate with the set though.
Thanks for dropping by today, I hope I have inspired you,
Love Hazelx

Turtley Great Day
Hello crafty friends!!! It's Lisa Lahiff here today, and I'm so excited to be back on the Gerda Steiner Designs blog sharing a sweet shaker card with all of you that uses the Turtley Great Stamp Set. I know you have all been introduced to these adorable new guys, and now it's my turn to show you just how fun this set can be...
To create this card I started by diecutting and adding the shaker element to the cardbase. I then stamped my sentiment along one of the diagonals. The turtle and snail were stamped and colored on separate cardstock with Spectrum Noir Markers. I then cut them out and added them to the front of my card. A few rhinestones later and my card was complete!
Such an easy card to create, and one that will wow the recipient! Win win!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!
Lisa
PS - I know this set is sold out at the moment, but you can add your email address and they will let you know when it's back in! Plus you can check out the other new sets that are just as cute!

Turtley Great - InsideoutJeans
Hi there! Jeannie back again with another card using the Turtley Great stamp set. There's so many things that you can do with this set. The last two cards I created focused mainly on the turtles. For this card, I wanted to include the present and the slug for a cute birthday card.
I really love the baby turtle who is just following the really happy slug, who's slowly heading to the present. I added a little bit of detail to the slug shell by adding white dots.
I just really love the larger turtle with the side eye. You can also add googley eyes to any of these turtles add a different look to the eyes, especially since they are looking in very specific directions.
I hope you enjoyed this card and join me next time for another fun card!

Turtles Buddy...
Hi Everyone,
Its Hazel from Didos Designs here today to share a wee bit of inspiration with you all using the Turtley Great Stamp Set.
I fell in love with the little snail in the set so had to play with him before I played with the turtles.
For my first creation I have made an circle easel card. I used some dies I had in my crafty stash and also the I Heart You from the Oh Manatee Set. I coloured the card in with watercolour pencils.
My second creation is made using the pretty cupcakes in the set too. I thought they would look great as a border on the card.
Im not sure if you can see but I added some glossy accents to his shell in this card and sprinkled a wee bit of glitter on his shell.
Thanks for dropping by today,
Love Hazel x

Turtley Great in Black & White
Hello everyone! I'm back to share another card using Turtley Great stamp set. I can't get myself past the typical colors for turtles so I'm back with another green tint card.
To create my background, I decided I wanted to use some alcohol inks to create a pretty subtle background using greens and one yellow ink. I wanted something soft so the turtles will stand out. As with all alcohol ink backgrounds, it's really hard to predict how it'll end up so I'm really glad how this turned out. It was a nice mix of greens and yellow in a soft, marbled effect.

Next, I die cut out some octagons in three different sized shapes. I used those to stamp three different turtles directly onto the die cuts, while masking off the stitched border. I had originally planned on coloring up the turtles but when I added the ground underneath the turtle and colored the background with yellow. I left them uncolored and was surprisingly pleased with how it looked. This definitely was outside my comfort zone, but I liked how it looked. I thought the alcohol inked background with hexagons was colorful enough.
Originally, I had only the three octagons with the turtles, but it looked a bit empty. I decided to add some additional hexagons colored in with the same yellow background the other turtles had.

What do you think? Does the black and white let the turtles really stand out? I'm really digging how this looks, so I hope you do too.
I'll see you guys next time for another card!

How cute are these turtles?
They are just perfect for some masculine/boy cards which I am always in need of!
For this card, I made a distress ink background. Next, I stamped and colored the turtles and a few gift packages. I fussy cut them out and popped them on the panel after I stamped the sentiment from the set in black ink. Then, I added the panel to a top folding white card base with some craft foam.

Turtly great - Birthday tag - Larissa
Goodmorning, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and today I am posting a new project on the Gerda Steiner designs blog. This time I made a large birthday tag.
I have used 2 stampsets on this tag. The cute turtles, present and cupcake are from the stampset Turtly great from Gerda Steiner designs. The balloons and flowers are from the set Happy hoppy from Gerda Steiner designs. I have coloured all images with my Polychromos pencils and then I have fussy cut them all. I have die-cut a large tag from white and kraft cardstock with the Crea-nest-lies XXL extreme labels and tags 12 from Crealies. On the white tag I made a backgroud with the Mini cloud edges stencil from My favorite things and Broken china distress ink. I have die-cut 2 grass hills from white cardstock with the Grassy hills die-namics from My favorite things and coloured those with Mowed lawn distress ink. On the backside of the balloons I attached yellow bakers twine and then I wrapped the twine around the body of the turtle and then around the present. I adhered all the images on the tag with foamtape. I have coloured the sentiment and then I have die-cut it and added it on the tag with foamtape.

Turtley Great!
Hi there! Jeannie here, back to share a card I created using the Turtley Great stamp set. It's such a super cute set. I love the variety of turtles in this set.
For today's card, I decide to mimic the turtle shell in the background to create a simple card. I used a hexagon stencil, and used distress inks to create the look near the bottom right of the card panel.
Because I didn't want to mask off the turtle, I stamped and colored the turtles and the cupcake on another piece of paper. I did cut along the larger turtle's neck so I could position the cupcake like I wanted. This helped with the overall look of the cupcake resting on top of the shell.
I like how the simple card turned out but the images from the stamp set created such an awesome little scene. I added a heat embossing sentiment to act as the "ground" for the turtle and it finished off the card.
Hope you enjoyed this card today and I'll see you next time for another card!

it's Tanja here. Did you see the lovely new Gerda Steiner Designs Turtley Great stamp set? I created this hidden slider channel card using the cute little snail from the set:
- create a hidden slider card using watercolor cardstock, Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and the My Favorite Things Cloud stencil for the background; the Memory Box Modern Landscape die, the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border die, one of the My Favorite Things Stitched Snowdrift dies, kraft cardstock and patterned paper from the ModaScrap Color of Puppies Boys 6x6 paper pad for the landscape
- furthermore, you need one of the Lawn Fawn Slide on over dies to cut the hidden slider channel
- I followed these instructions by Karolyn Loncon from Paper Therapy to create the mechanism
- stamp the "Pull Here" from the Lawn Fawn Push Here set with Versafine Clair Morning Mist
- stamp the snail and the present from the new Gerda Steiner Designs Turtley Great set and color the images with Derwent Inktense pencils and a damp watercolor brush
- add some sparkle with the Nuvo Midas Touch Shimmer Pen
- cut out the CUTplorations happy from kraft cardstock and patterned paper from the same patterned paper pad and add the "Birthday" using a label maker
You should really try to create this stunning mechanism. Who doesn't love an interactive card?
Hugs,
