Dear Santa, I can Explain...Christmas Kittens!

Hello and Happy Monday to you!  Tina here from Cards & Coffee Time, I hope your week is off to a great start!!  Today I am sharing a Christmas card with the super feisty Christmas Kittens stamp set along with the coordinating dies.  Our Christmas tree for years now, has been adorned with ornaments and bulbs starting from about two feet up from the bottom of the tree.  The top half has all the bells and whistles but the bottom half, well... we have kitties who think glass ornaments are toys too:)

You can watch how I created this card down below.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great week!  Hugs, Tina

Two kitten in a stocking - Larissa

Goodmorning, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and today I am posting a new card on the blog from Gerda Steiner designs. This time I made a christmas card with the sweet image Two kitten in the stocking from Gerda Steiner designs.

I have coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils, the black glaze pen and a white gelpen. Then I have fussy cut the image. I added Dry glitter: Clear rock candy from Ranger to the trim of the stocking. With the Crea-nest-lies XXL 52 from Crealies I have die-cut a rectangle from white cardstock and made a background on it with the Kuretake gansai tambi set. I glued the image with foamtape on the rectangle and then I stamped a sentiment from the set Typed christmas from Hello Bluebird below the image. I have die-cut a larger rectangle with the Crea-nest-lies XXL 52 from Crealies from the Graphic grid paperpack from My favorite things. Then I have decorated the card and the image with a couple of really tiny white pearls.

Christmas Carolling Kittens

Hey friends,

Today I'm here to share two cards that I have made using the new stamp set called 'Carol Kitten'.
This adorable set is being released today so you can play with these super cute kitties too!

For my first card, I had the idea that I wanted them to be singing in the snow. To create the background panel I used the ink blending technique with some distress inks, to first create the yellow glow for the streetlight, and then the blue shades around it. Using various dies in my stash, I added the stitched detail to the background piece, and also to a piece of white card which I then die cut into a snow bank. I also die cut the streetlight. These pieces were adhered to the panel, and the panel to an A2 card base.

I stamped and coloured the images using Copics and cut them out using the Scan n Cut. These were adhered using foam tape for some dimension.

To finish it off I wanted to add 'snow'. I held my breath for this part!
I was a bit apprehensive about spoiling it as I was happy with how it turned out and was worried the splatters wouldn't work as I wanted. Unfortunately my 'test piece' worked how I wanted but when I got to the card it didn't work out so well. These poor kittens look like they're in a blizzard!
Oh well, these kittens are so cute I think they steal the show!

For my next card, I wanted a different look to this scene.

First, I stamped and coloured the images using Copics and cut them out using the Scan n cut again.  I put these aside to work on the rest of the card.

Using some festive red card, I die cut the base panel using a stitched rectangle from my stash again. Next, I die cut some white card into a 4-window panel. And did the same with some pale blue card for the window inserts. Finally I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto some red card to tie it all together, and cut some flagged ends. Now all my pieces were ready to attach.

First the red card was attached to an A2 card base. Using the white frame as a guide, I attached the 4 blue window backgrounds to the red card. The white frame was then attached with foam to add dimension, along with the cats. The sentiment was attached with another layer of foam to make it pop out even more. This completed the card.

I had so much fun with these cute kittens. Don't you think they have so much character with those funny little expressions?! I hope you like my cards for today. I will be back later in the month with another upcoming adorable set!
Until then, happy crafting!

Naughty or Nice? - Simon Says Stamp

Hi there,

it's Tanja here and a while back I had the huge honor to publish this cute little Christmas Card for Gerda Steiner Designs on the Simon Says Stamp Blog:
Gerda came out with some fabulous new Christmas Stamp Sets this year. There really is something for everyone: Christmas Puppies, a cute Reindeer, more Reindeer, a sweet Snowman, baking Mice and Christmas Kitties.
Of course, I had to use one of the fun little cats, for I have four wonderful cats myself.

  • stamp the cute little cat and the bauble from the Gerda Steiner Designs Christmas Kitties set with Versafine Onyx Black and color the image with Derwent Inktense pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • stamp the twig from that same stamp set with Versafine Olympia Green
  • add highlights with a white gel pen and some sparkle with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter
  • apply Distress Oxide Ink Broken China through the Tim Holtz Stripes Layering Stencil to create a background
  • stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black
  • adhere the stitched focal panel to another stitched panel cut from patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Sugar Plum 6x6 paper pad before adhering all the layers to a white cardbase

I hope you got inspired.

Yours,

Christmas kitties - Larissa

Hi everyone, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and this time I am posting 2 christmas cards. I have used the same images, but because I used different design papers for the cards and coloured the images a bit different. they are not exactly the same.

I stamped a cuple of different images from the stampset Christmas kitties from Gerda Steiner designs. Then I coloured the images with my Polychromos pencils and the black glaze pen. I have coloured the ornaments and the trim of the christmas hat with the Clear Spectrum noir sparkle pen. I have die-cut the image with the Crea-nest-lies XXL 36 from Crealies and then I adhered the image on black cardstock.

On a white card I adhered design paper that I also cut with the Crea-nest-lies XXL 36 from Crealies. Both design papers are bought in Dutch stores.
