Happy birthday puppy....!!

Hey my friends...

Ashlee here with you today and I am loving the brand new "Puppy mail" set (Co-ordinating dies also available) that Gerda designed, it is super duper cute!!

The puppy mail set is perfect for any theme card so for this one I have paired three off the cute puppies for this Happy birthday card....

To create this card I started with a grey cardstock base and using a Catherine Pooler background stamp BFF I added the pattern to the cardstock with A grey shade of ink from Altenew...

I thought it would be fun to add a dog shaped tag behind the Happy birthday sentiment so I die cut that from white cardstock and added some white/red twine...

The sentiment is a stamp from MFT called Happy birthday blend that I stamped in two parts using two shades of red ink from Altenew and then die cut with the co-ordinating die....

The whole card was then finished off with a touch of sequins that I attached using micro glue dots (perfect size for attaching sequins, I use them all the time!!)

I hope you enjoy this puppy themed birthday card...
Happy crafting Hugs Ashlee

Valentine penguins - A little present - Larissa

Hi everyone, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and today it is my turn again to post something on the blog from Gerda Steiner designs. This time I am showing a little present that I have made. I made a little package for a chocolate bar. I have decorated the package with one of the cute penguins from the clear stamp set Valentine penguins from Gerda Steiner designs. I have stamped the penguin on Florence watercolour paper smooth from Vaessen creative with Versafine clair nocturne ink and then I embossed it with clear embossingpowder. I have coloured the image with Distress inks and then I have fussy cut the image. With the Crea-nest-lies XXL 21 from Crealies I have die-cut a circle from white cardstock and stamped on it with the Background diagonals (retired) from Clearly besotted stamps and Versafine clair nocturne ink. I have cut a larger circle from pink cardstock with the Crea-nest-lies XXL 33 from Crealies and cut a scalloped circle from black cardstock with the Crea-nest-lies XXL 53 from Crealies. I have glued all circles on top of each other and added the image with foamtape.

The package is my own design and I made it from pink cardstock. With a black fineliner I have drawn dots on the package. I also tied a black ribbon around the box and glued the circles on the box.

Thank You for Watching the Dog

Hello and welcome back!  It’s Karen here today and I’ve used the new stamp set called “Puppy Mail” to make my card today.

I first stamped and coloured in my images with copic markers.  I also used the image from the “I Just Miss You”  set. This is also available as a digital set, so it’s easy to resize to your card front. I love how all these images so clearly show different moments in a puppy’s day.

On my card front, I used the larger circle die in the Panel Shapes die set from Your Next Stamp because I liked that it cut the stitched line around it. I cut out four circles, leaving room for my sentiment. I found a dog paw stamp in my stash and stamped it randomly over the card front in black Versafine ink.

I placed the card front over my card base and lightly pencilled in the circles. I used a larger circle die to cut out my images, and then adhered them with glue over the pencilled areas. I decided not to pop my card front up with foam tape, but I do think that would look very nice.

I used the sentiment from the Puppy Mail set and stamped it on some white cardstock. I used a fishtail die to cut it out and then mounted it with tape to a piece of blue cardstock. I fussy cut the blue cardstock to leave a small border along the top and bottom, and then adhered this to my card front and trimmed the excess from the right hand side.

This was a really quick and simple card to make but such a handy one to have in your stash if you’re a dog owner.  I know that I’ll be using it someday!

Christmas in July - Light Up Card

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today with Gerda Steiner Design to create a Christmas card!

Yes, I know it’s July but I wanted to get a head start and the shop has so many good Christmas sets. Using mainly Gerda Steiner Designs’ Reindeer and a Tree, I created a one layer scene card of reindeers decorating a Christmas tree.

I added the box of ornaments from Tangled Penguin and the sentiment came from Holiday Snail. Once my scene was stamped and masked, I used distress inks to color up the background.

I'm using an EZ Light to help up three parts of the card: Rudolph’s red nose, an ornament, and the star that goes on top of the tree. I used vellum and colored the pieces using copic markers so the lights would project different colors.

How fun is this card?! Isn't it perfect for Christmas?

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create. Come back again soon for more inspiration and ideas! Happy Crafting!

Sweet Dino Watermelon Card!

Hello friends! Karla back today with a cute summertime card using the adorable Watermelon-Dinosaur Digital Stamp from Gerda Steiner Designs! This guy totally reminds me of a story my youngest daughter loves to read about an alligator who eats a watermelon seed and worries that it's growing inside of him! I coloured this sweet dino up with Copics and paired him with fun paper from Doodlebug Designs!

I used some pretty diecuts to layer everything together and even added some embroidery floss stitching before finishing the card off with cute fruity embellishments and sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you're having a wonderful summer and that this guy brings a smile to your face! Be sure to head over to the Gerda Steiner Designs Shop to see both digis and clear stamps and get crafting!!

Sneaky raccoons - Hello - Larissa

Hi everyone, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and today it is my turn to post something on the blog from Gerda Steiner designs. This time I have made a card with one of the cute stamps from the clear stamp set Sneaky racoons from Gerda Steiner designs. I have stamped the image on Florence watercolour paper smooth from Vaessen creative with Versafine clair nocturne ink and then I embossed the image with clear embossingpowder. I have coloured the image with Distress inks and then I have fussy cut it.

I have made a small white card. From some other white cardstock I have die-cut a circle with the Crea-nest-lies XXL 33 from Crealies and I glued the image behind it. On the white card I made a background for the image with Tumbled glass Distress ink. Then I glued the white cardstock with the image with foamtape on the card. I used a black fineliner to draw lines around the edges of the white panel. I have die-cut the word Hello from black cardstock with the Smalt alfabet (D190603) from Gummiapan and then I glued it on my card.

Hi, Margreet here.
I created a Rolodex card with the new sweet digital stamp Watermelon - Dinosaur from Gerda Steiner Designs.

Printed, colored with Promarkers and then fussy cut the image.
I recently made some prints with my Gelliplate. I found this print matching the dinosaur well and die cut a Rolodex card from it.

To finish off I drew a white outline and some watermelon seeds.
I stamped the text with the handlettering clearstamps set from Bella Lulu.

Hope you like my inspiration with this new cutie.

Birthday Bear Pop Up Box Card

Hello, it’s Karen here today and I’m back with another card featuring the Birthday Bear stamp set.  This is such a fun, festive stamp set and I thought these characters would go well in a pop up box card. I’ve kept the front of my card quite simple because the fun is really on the inside.

I’ve made a short video to show you how to make this card, so if you would like to see the video please CLICK HERE.

I created the front of my card first by die cutting a cover panel from MFT’s Four Way Chevron die (you could use any cover die in your stash for this). I saved the inset pieces and copic coloured them with a mix of orange to yellow markers.  I cut a piece of Die Cut N Bond to cover the back of the panel and then replaced the coloured pieces back into the frame.

I had already coloured my images with copic markers, and I’ve listed the markers used below. I created some coloured cardstock for my sentiment by colouring white cardstock with one of the copic markers that I had used on the chevrons. I die cut a circle out of this, stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment onto it and heat set it with clear embossing powder.  I added a thin line of BoBunny rose gold glimmer paste around the outside of the circle and let it dry.

After removing the backing from the Die Cut N Bond, I adhered the cover panel to the front of my card and pressed it into place.  Then I adhered my circle sentiment, popped the bear up on foam tape and adhered him to the sentiment circle.

For the inside of the card, I die cut the Lawn Fawn pop up box and crossbars out of Neenah 80# cardstock.  I created my own coloured paper with some Nuvo shimmer powders, but you could use patterned paper, foil cardstock, glitter paper or really anything else you have on hand. From this shimmer paper, I cut the rectangle panel pieces and a selection of streamers, twirly bits, hearts and stars that are included in the pop up box die set.

I placed double sided adhesive on the triangular flaps of the box and on the small flap as well as on the ends of each crossbar. Using a bone folder, I creased all the folds.  The crossbar pieces are attached by removing the backing paper from one end and evenly spacing the crossbars along the first box side adjacent to the small fold. Once these are adhered, I fold them all down towards the long side of the box, remove the backing paper from the other end of all the crossbars as well as from the small side flap. Then I fold the other half of the box up to meet the side flap and press everything  down. Now the box is ready to decorate!

After attaching strips of scrap acetate to the backs of my images and to the streamers and twirly bits, I used double sided adhesive to attach them to my box. Once the box is decorated, I stamped my inside sentiment on my card base as it is easier to do this before attaching the box. Next, I attached the box to the inside of the card by lining one triangular flap along the fold line of the card base and then aligning the second triangle with this one. I find I need to keep folding the box and card base down several times, guiding it into position and creasing all the folds with my fingers and a bone folder. It really will do it on its own after being manipulated several times.

It may seem like a lot of work at first, but these pop up boxes have such a big, fun impact that I love to add them into my cards. I hope you will give this one a try!

Copic Markers used:
BEAR - E79, E59, E57, E35, E53, E51 R00, R20
BUNNY - W1, W2, W3, E40, R00, R20
BANNERS - RV04, BG13, Y17, YG03, Y08
BALLOON - YG67, YG17, YG03

Puppy Mail

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today with Gerda Steiner Design’s stamp set named, Puppy Mail. It's an adorable set that I see as pretty versatile. I have a couple of ideas to go with this stamp set, but I decided to start where I'm comfortable... a scene card! This set has the perfect components to create a fun scene using quite a few of these images and it's pretty easy!

I stamped out these images on my A2 card panel and I also stamped them out on masking paper so I could mask them off. I wanted to use distress inks to create a quick scene. I started off by adding the road using browns, then added the sky above with some blues, and the filled in the rest with greens for the grassy areas.

Once the distress inks filled up the background, all I needed to do was color. I added some details to the green grassy areas so they had some texture and it wasn't so flat. To finish off the card, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and matted my card panel on a black card base.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create. Come back again soon for more inspiration and ideas! Happy Crafting!

It's a good day....!!

Hey my friends...

It's Ashlee here with some new Gerda Steiner inspiration for you and this card features the brand new set "Puppy mail"....

I just adore this new stamp set, happy mail is one of my favourite themes to create with and the puppy dogs make it even cuter!!

To create this card I made an ink blended background using a Create a smile stencil called medium stripes and some distress oxide inks...

I then die cut a postage circle from a piece of vellum and added it to the card base by hiding the tape underneath the images....

I stamped, coloured and cut out the puppy mail images then added them to the postage circle with some foam tape for added dimension...

I finished the card off by adding a die cut sending and some sentiments from the puppy mail stamp set, along with some sequins of course!!

I hope you all enjoy this new happy mail card, you totally need to check out this new stamp set and add it to your GSD stamp collection...

Happy crafting, Hugs Ashlee.

Hello Mermaid Card by Karla!

Hello friends! Karla back today with a fun, summery card using the adorable Mermaid Digital Stamp from the Gerda Steiner Designs Shop! This sweet little gal is just perfect for a bright hello card ready to make someone smile!

I coloured her up with Copic Markers after printing the image out onto 65 lb cardstock and then added some white and stardust gel pen details. I matched her to this underwater Echo Park paper - perfect for an under the sea theme!

After colouring her hair with a wonderful purple - because I think mermaids need bright coloured hair... I used the darkest marker to add some lines for extra hair-like effect. I diecut the hello out of some sparkly purple paper and added some coordinating sequins and enamel dots to finish it off!

Inside, I added one of the cut apart images from the paper pack and diecut it with a shaped die to add a cute sentiment!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out the Gerda Steiner Designs Shop for all the awesome digital and clear stamp images, and have some fun colouring up some happiness today!

Big Hugs,
Karla
