I just couldn’t resist turning these naughty Christmas kittensinto some fun Christmas tags. The expressions on their faces say everything don’t they! As a cat owner I can attest to my cats getting up to the exact same shenanigans once my tree goes up every year.
These tags were so fun to make. I wanted them to be super dimensional so I added foam tape between each layer. I also had these adorable Christmas charms in my crafty stash that I thought would be a cute addition to the tags as well.
White and red card stock and salvaged patina oxide ink were my colour theme.
I coloured the kitties with copics in the colours E000,50,51,53,R21,20 and used a white gel pen to add some white dots to the fur.
I finished the tags off with a wood button hot glued on the one tag and some red and blue glitter glue on the ornaments for a nice sparkle as well as adding some fun Christmas slice embellishments.
Hi everyone. It's Laurie back with a final project using the soon-to-be-released Season's Tweetings stamp set. This is done using the box die from Lawn Fawn.
All of the birds, presents and trees are colored with Copic markers, fussy cut out, and then glued onto the slats within the collapsable box. I thought the present designer paper worked well with this set to decorate the outside of the box.
Howdy friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here with my last guest post for Gerda Steiner Designs. I have enjoyed the last 2 months so much working with this great company and stamps.
Today I am bringing you this fun shaker card that just screamed out to me as an idea when I saw this stamp set.
I used a fun stencil to ink blend the background of course in a rainbow of colors. I used Copic markers to color this adorable pigeon with his toast.
The sentiment is stamped with Kaleidacolor Royal Satin Dye Ink, which is 5 colors in one pad to give this great ombre blend that went with the background.
i used rainbow sprinkles confetti and found this toast confetti in my stash as well which just solidified the fact that I had to make a shaker card.
Have a great day everyone...
I hope you have enjoyed this project, I hope to be back in the near future. In the mean time, I can be found at Leeanngetscrafty on all social media platforms and would love it if you were to follow me for other fun inspiration.
Hi again, Debbie Throckmorton back
for my second guest designer post using the new GSD release called
Skyline. This stamp set provides the perfect
backdrop to showcase any of cute and whimsical GSD characters.
This time I’m pairing the skyline
with the Howl Are You? stamp set and I thought it would be fun to use with the
Lawn Fawn platform Pop-Up die.
I stamped the cityscape and die cut
it out using the Lawn Fawn Platform Pop-Up Add-On background die. I also stamped a second cityscape and cut out
some of the buildings to help with the 3-D effect. Up front I had the beagle sitting on a bit of
the brick wall and the bulldog looking on from the bottom of the card. I used speech bubbles and attached them using
acetate so they look like they are floating in the air.
Hello! I’m honored to have a card featured in the Gerda Steiner Designs blog. Today I am sharing the adorable Melon Muncher 2x3 stamp set.
This card features the Gerda Steiner Melon Muncher 2x3 stamp set critter at the beach. He doesn’t go anywhere without his melon. I used an Altenew 3D embossing folder with light blue card stock for the first layer. The next layer is some beachy pattern paper from my stash with a Gina K Designs tropical palm tree stamp. I colored our little friend with some Copic markers, popped him up with foam adhesive, and added an extra melon and slice to the foreground. The finishing touch is a sentiment. Thanks, stamp from my stash.
He just can’t go anywhere without his watermelon in hand and an extra to spare.
Hi everyone! It's Laurie and I'm back with another card for the Season's Tweetings stamp set that is soon to be released.
The bird is colored with Copic's. I added some Tulip puffy dimensional fabric paint to his hat. If you heat it with your heat gun it really puffs up! So much fun to use.
The holiday tag was made with paper I've had in my stash for a while now. I only used a portion of the Merry Christmas stamp on this and creatively cut out part of the sentiment with a die. Since this bird was by himself, the "we wish you a" just didn't work.
I have one more project I made with this stamp set coming up next Friday. See you then.
Hi there friends and fellow crafters, LeeAnn here with a fun Fall "Autumn" card I made using the "Pumpkin Mouse" stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs.
This is the front of the card, which I decided to make an easel card for this project.
The night sky pattern paper is from Rabbit Hold Designs, while the moon is from Lawn Fawn; the pumpkin patch I colored with Copic Markers.
Not wantiung to leave the back empty, I used the same paper from Lawn fawn for a moon and the cute Ghost popping out of the pumpkin from the Halloween Ghosts stamp set. And the plaid pattern paper is from my stash. I did use Versamark and White Embossing powder on the sentiment on this side. This way no matter how you look at the card it is fun.
I hope you have enjoyed this project, I'll be back next Thurdsay with another fun project I have ready for you. I can be found at Leeanngetscrafty on all social media platforms and would love it if you were to follow me for other fun inspiration.
It's me again, Jessie Scott, Guest Designing for Gerda Steiner Designs! This week I wanted to show something fun you can do with the brick wall stamp in the new release "Skyline" stamp set.
The brick wall stamp in "Skyline" is a perfect element to use for a Bridge Card design. Not familiar? Here's detailed steps below for a Landscape Bridge Card!
1. Cut black card stock 7-1/2" x 4-1/4"
2. Score at 1" and 2" from both ends of the 7-1/2" length (on a large scoreboard, at 1", 2", 5-1/2", 6-1/2")
**don't fold and burnish yet, wait until after stenciling so you don't get hard ink lines on your folds**
3. Starting at the top of the black card base, stencil clouds on with white ink, blending off the top of the edge of the stencil. Go from the stencil edge to the top of the card Shift down the card base and add more until you're at the bottom. For the 2nd and on stencilings make sure you start on the stencil and very lightly blend up white into the black space and fade into the edge of the cloud line above.
4. Stamp the brick pattern across the bottom of a 5-1/2" x about 2" scrap white paper for coloring (or just use grey and add accents) continue the pattern to fill the whole width. Trim top and bottom to edge of your stamping.
*I decided later I didn't want a pile of candy laying around and was inspired by the challenge last week to hand-draw an element. I drew a small bowl the size I needed!
** I used a quote bubble die from my stash for the sentiment but you can hand-cut one!
6. Color all images in a monotone color scheme (or just stamp on grey and add accents). I also added shading to the quote bubble too. I used my OLO Markers C-0 thru C-9 and then accented with a white gel pen for the bricks.
7. Fold and burnish your card base into a Bridge Card (outside folds are mountain and inside folds are valley)
8. Glue the bricks on one side first, just the outside 1" at the bottom. Make sure you collapse the card down towards the center to ensure the other end of the bricks are straight with the bottom of the card the whole way.
9. Line up the bricks on the other end of the card base and apply glue only on the outer 1". Collapse the card base as before, folding in towards the center so the brick glues down flat to the card base. This is the mailing position for the A2 Bridge Card.
10. Trim if needed if you have any overhang of brick off the edge of the card.
11. Apply the pieces! Character gets glued on the paws and centered. Witch hat from the Ghosts stamp set works great for these characters! Quote bubble gets glued only on the left side on the outer 1" and a tiny spot on the ear.
12. Take the candy (from Where's the Candy? stamp set) and start piling and gluing it to the bowl (or background, whatever works for you).
13. Add effects! Tiny accent spider (from the Ghosts stamp set) in the background, glitter gelly roll on the hat buckle and candy, crystal effects on the character's eyes.
14. Collapse to the side to fit into an A2 envelope for mailing!
Hi, I’m Debbie Throckmorton, and I’m
honored to be a guest designer for a new GSD release called Skyline. This set doesn’t feature any of the cute and
whimsical characters we are used to from GSD, BUT the cityscape and the brick
wall provide the perfect backdrop for those characters. And what better characters to feature in a
city skyline, but the GSD Pigeons stamp set.
I did a bit of layering with this
one using the cityscape as the background and then in the foreground gave my “coo”
pigeons a brick wall to perch on. I also
stamped some extra bricks and cut them in 1 inch segments to create a column on
either side of the card. I raised the
brick walls and the pigeons up with foam adhesive squares and added a little
glossy accents to the pigeon dropping to make it look “fresh.” And of course they all need to sunglasses;
they’re “coo” after all!!
I colored all my images with copic
markers:
Pigeons: N6 N4 N2 N1 N0
Pigeon dropping: N4
Bricks: E29 E09 E07 with E53 for the mortar between
the bricks
Hope my creation makes you smile. I know it made my day. For now, stay tuned until 10/25/23, when I'll be back with another skyline creation (hint: this one will feature a platform pop-up)
Staceywith you today stopping by to share a Halloween themed card that I created using that cute little owl from the Where Is The Candy Stamp Set.
Here is a look at the card that I created:
I covered a white card base with some patterned papers, leaving about an inch or so of the cardbase showing along the bottom. I stamped my owl from the Where Is The Candy stamp set with some Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with my Copic markers. I die cut it out using a circle die and layered it on top of another circle before using a stitched die to cut off the excess overhang so that my circle would be flush with my card base. I stamped my sentiment onto some orange patterned paper, added a black scallop & added it to my card. I completed my card with some black stars in the top right corner and a bow tied with some black crochet thread.
Hey there! Katie Brooks here, back for one more guest post! It has been so fun to be able to play with GSD stamps, they are so whimsical and sweet. The card I have today is no exception, I used the images in combo to make a fun bird tower.
Aren't they fricking cute! I love these darling birds and they make such a fun wobbly tower complete with their Christmas tree!
I stamped the images from the Season's Tweetings set and colored them with copics. I used E25, E23, E21, YR16, YG25, YG17, YG03, R37, R35, R14, C03, C01, C05, B01, B000, and V91. I have to say, the Pigeon set is one of my faves and I really wanted to make that middle bird look like a pigeon, not sure if it is meant to be, but works for me! Next, I cut these cuties out and set them aside.
1Next I pulled out this fun gold snowflake DP and cut it to 4 X 5.25. I also had this strip of candy cane stripe paper and pulled cut that into a strip and made the end have a chevron. (Both of these piece's of DP are scraps and I don't know who made them, though I am guessing the red and white is Doodlebug Designs). Next, I adhered the red to the snowflakes and the snowflakes to the white base with EZ Tear Tape. I stamped my sentiment with black ink. Next, I added in my birds creating them into this fun tower. I finished it off with some Trinity Stamps red pearls, adhered with glue dots.
Of the 2023 holiday cards I have made thus far, this is one of my faves, I just love the whimsy of it. I may give this one to my dad, who is a bird lover.
Well, again, it has been a pleasure to be here and I thank GSD for having me. I hope you enjoyed this post! Please check me out on IG under the handle katieannbrooks. Have a fantastic weekend! ~Katie
Hi everyone! It's Laurie and I'm back with a new soon-to-be-released stamp set called Season's Tweetings.
This is such a cute bird set for the Holidays or winter cards. I stamped each of the birds and the tree in the sections created by the postage stamp die. Each of them is colored using Copic Markers.
I added a bit of texture to the owl using rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to remove some of the color. I also added some glossy accents to the yellow bird's glasses. In real life, it shines!
Stay tuned as I will have another card using this set next Friday.
Hi there freinds and fellow crafters, LeeAnn here with this adorable Pigeon with his slice of toast... I had so much fun with this card. The stamp set is called A Toast To You!!! I used a brick wall stencil and Bee Sting Lunar Past for the wall, a cloud stencil for the sky and Copics to color the Pigeon... I stamped the sentiment on grey cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I used the same cardstock for the top of the wall for the pigeon to walk on.
I hope you have enjoyed this project, I'll be back next Thurdsay with another fun project I have ready for you. I can be found at Leeanngetscrafty on all social media platforms and would love it if you were to follow me for other fun inspiration.
I'm Jessie Scott and I'm here today as a Guest Designer for Gerda Steiner Designs!
My card showcases the new "Skyline" stamp set from the new release this week!
There are two stamps in the "Skyline" set and I thought one of my favorite stamps "Ghosts" would go well with a fun spooky city scene at night.
First I used my embossing buddy on my black cardstock to prep for embossing. Then I stamped the cityscape scene with versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Next I used some paper scraps to temporarily mask off the shapes of the buildings roughly and added splatter to the background using my kuratake pearl colors watercolor set in my splatter box.
I colored my ghosts with my OLO markers (newer alternative to Copics) using BG 2.1\2.3.
My ghosts were then mounted to the card using foam tape on the outer two and then the middle one is actually using a mini wobbler. I love to add these to cards to give a fun interactive feel! Wobbler elements mail well as long as the rest of the card doesn't have many layers. I also use a thin piece of dinner plate packing foam to even out the bumpiness of the card and protect the wobbler.
The buildings looked a little plain so I got out my jelly roll moonlight pens and took the yellow and randomly colored in windows here and there. I then found a similar yellow piece of cardstock and used that to create the card base to make the windows pop on the card.
Top it all off with a stamped sentiment and punch out with your favorite sentiment strip die. I mounted it on the card with foam tape for a little dimension.
Here's a video of the finished result! Hope you love my spooky wobbling ghost!
I love the expressions of these ghosts and it lets you make a scene that hints at a story. I feel like this is three brothers floating above the city. The immature middle child is trying to scare the younger one and then the third one is off to the side, obviously the older and more mature one, thinking "why did I bring them again?" Haha!
Tune back in on the 18th for another card I will be sharing on the blog! In the meantime you can follow me on Instagram (@chevy.scott) to stay in touch between now and then!
Hello! I’m honored to have a card featured in the Gerda Steiner Designs blog. Today I am sharing the adorable Melon Muncher 2x3 stamp set. This card base is made with Neenah Solar White 110# card stock. After fussy cutting him out, I wanted to make a beach scene.
He doesn’t go anywhere without his melon. I used an Altenew 3D embossing folder with light blue cardstock for the first layer. The next layer is some beachy pattern paper from my stash with a Gina K Designs tropical palm tree stamp. I colored our little friend with some Copic markers, popped him up with foam adhesive, and added an extra melon and slice to the foreground. The finishing touch is a sentiment from my stash.
I’d like to say a big THANK YOU! to Mace Steiner for featuring my cards on the blog. It was loads of fun!
