Howly Jowly Christmas Light-up Card!

 Greetings everyone! It's me again, Jessie Scott (@chevy.scott on IG) here to share a fun light up card with Gerda Steiner Designs products!

Today I have another fun collaboration with Pear Blossom Press products to share. The Carol Puppies stamp set is BACK IN STOCK! Time to finish up those Christmas cards!

I thought it would be fun to make a front porch scene of these cute pup caroling outside this bright red door with a fun wreath/message.

On the inside I used the sentiment from the set, like the pups are singing to you as you open the card.

Images were colored with my OLO Markers.  I'm still in love with them!

Halloween Card by Noga Shefer

Hi crafty friends, Noga  here and I am so happy to share with you another project for Gerda Steiner Designs today.

 

My card featuring the adorable Ghosts Stamp Set  and Halloween Ghosts 4x6 Clear Stamp Set.

To make this card I took an A2 panel  purple cardstock.

The background  was created by blending shaded lilac  and wilted violet distress oxide inks,

splashed it with water and  and glued it on the purple panel.

Next I colored the image using copic markers and glued it to my panel with foam tape for dimension.

Next I stamped a greeting from this stamp set using black ink.

For a final touch, I added clear bubbles .

Blow Out the Candle with the Cupcake Mice set!

 Greetings everyone! It's me again, Jessie Scott (@chevy.scott on IG) here to share a fun light up card with Gerda Steiner Designs products!

Today I have another fun collaboration with Pear Blossom Press products to share and this time... you can BLOW OUT this CANDLE! Read on friend! 

Have you added the Cupcake Mice from Gerda Steiner Designs to your collection yet? Well great news, its in stock! Such cute images for a fun birthday card. This funny "29 again?" is also in the set as well as "Make a Wish" and "Happy Birthday" I used on the inside (below).

Since this card will LIGHT UP, I went with a CAS (clean and simple) design for this card. 

The accents I chose to spice it up are actually messy hand-drawn lines I have been wanting to try for a while. Have you seen these fun hand-made borders on Pinterest like I have? Give it a try!

Ghosts, they're not just for Halloween!!

Just when you think you can only pull out your ghosts in October and then only for Halloween cards, SURPRISE!!

First up. . .Gerda has created a sweet little coffee lover ghost digital stamp, who may or may not want to share his coffee with you!!  I resized and fussy cut him out, pairing him with a cup of coffee, because you can never have too much caffeine, right?!?

I colored with copic markers:

Ghost:  B000, BV10, and colorless blender

Coffee cup:  your choice of browns and grays, any light ones will do

Enjoy this little caffeine buzzed ghost!!

Next up. . .This little digital popcorn loving ghost had me at popcorn, buttered of course!!  I resized and fussy cut him out and paired him with an explosion of popcorn (actually little clouds from another stamp set, but they sure look like popcorn to me).  I don't think he's ready for a scary movie, but certainly there has to be a Halloween movie on the lighter side that he could watch and enjoy his popcorn!!

Again, I used copic markers:

Ghost:  B000, BV10 and colorless blender

Popcorn:  Y11

Popcorn container:  R29 and R35

Too Cute To Spook! A Trifecta of Halloween Fun!!

 Just in time for Halloween, Gerda has done it again, creating some sweet little digital stamp ghosts that are perfect for Halloween or any time.  

This particular little ghost fore sure is perfect for Halloween.  I resized and fussy cut him out to pair him with a spooky withered tree against a wavy circle background.  With minimal coloring involved, you can make up a quick Halloween card to give to someone to "spook" up their day!!

I colored the boo ghost with copics:

Ghost:  B000, BV, and colorless blender

BOO:  G07, YG09, and YG13

Then who says love and Halloween don't mix.  Not me!!  Of all the pumpkins in the whole wide world, you're the only pumpkin for me.  Here's another sweet little digital ghost already for fall, picking his favorite pumpkin out of the pumpkin patch.  I resized and fussy cut this little ghost out and paired him with the pumpkins from Gerda's Pumpkin Mouse stamp set.  They were made for each other!!

I used copics to color the images:

Ghost:  B000, BV10, and colorless blender

Pumpkins:  YR09, YR04, Y19, and Y15

Pear:  YR24, YR23, and YR21

Apple:  R29, R35, and R24

Mushroom:  R29, R35, E31, and E30

Then be sure to look up in the sky, so you don't miss this next little ghost flying high!!  Woohoo!!  I resized and fussy cut this little witchy friend out and placed him in a cobweb frame, for his ride past the moon.

I used copics to color him up, and a blender brush with white ink to give a spooky feel to the frame.  The sentiment is from Gerda's Halloween Ghosts stamp set.

Ghost:  B000, BV10 and colorless blender

Hat & broom:  your choice, but I am partial to purples for the witch's hat

Woodland Holiday Friends New Release in Pastels

 Greetings everyone! It's me again, Jessie Scott (@chevy.scott on IG) here to share a fun mostly just coloring card! I'm using the large focal image from the newly released "Woodland Holiday Friends" stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs! 

Isn't this large stamp adorable?!?! I wanted a soft pastel Christmas vibe, and I love how it came out!

I had fun masking off this image and splattering with my favorite Kuretake watercolors. To match my card base, I ink blended some distress oxide on the edges. 

Sentiment is the same distress oxide embossed with clear embossing powder to seal it in. 

COST SAVING TIP ALERT!!!

I love getting whatever color embossed sentiment this way! Pigment inks with clear embossing powder is a great way to get more colors than what you have in your embossing powder stash. Now I really only need to have a giant jar of clear, then some white, and other glitter embossing powders and some metallic. No need to buy any plain colored ones!

Merry Christmas by Noga Shefer

Hi crafty friends, Noga  here and I am so happy to share with you another project for Gerda Steiner Designs today

My card featuring brand new the adorable Beary Merry Christmas.

To make this card I took an A2 panel of green cardstock. 

For the background, I die cut the decklrd frame die out of white cardstock. 

Behind it, I ink blended a background using Distress Oxide in shaded lilac, splashed it with water and  and glued it behind this frame.

Next I colored the sweet image using copic markers and stamped a greeting from this set using black ink.

For a final touch, I added some snowflakes sequins.

It's a Christmas Mash-Up!!

 I've been having so much fun playing with all of Gerda's latest Christmas stamp sets, Woodland Holiday Friends, Beary Merry Christmas and Caroling Woodland Animals.  For this card I decided to take a little something from each one:  fox, bunny and reindeer from Woodland, mouse and tree from Caroling, and Ho X 3 from Beary Merry.  All the characters were fussy cut and colored with copics.

Then, because I'm such a big fan of the littlest mouse from Caroling Woodland Animals, I decided he needed his very own card.

No fussy cutting needed for this one, but I did need to do some masking to add the musical notes.  I used the sentiment from Gerda's Woodland Holiday Friends stamp set.  You're humming the melody to this one right now, aren't you?!😉

I hope you have as much fun with all 3 of these stamp sets as I have had and will continue to have!!

Have a Beary INTERACTIVE Christmas!

 Greetings everyone! It's me again, Jessie Scott (@chevy.scott on IG) here to share a fun interactive card using the newly released "Beary Merry Christmas" stamp set  from Gerda Steiner Designs! 

 

Isn't this Christmas bear set adorable?!?!

The front image with his sweater is a FABULOUS image to have for his own card. BUT.... I always like to spice it up a little! I just got the new interactive die from Lawn Fawn and thought I would see... YES! this fun wreath image fits right inside!

I curved the sentiment from this set on my misti and stamped it for the curved sentiment strip the die set comes with.

Ok so now for the fun assembly! I skipped the Swivel Surprise mechanism assembly as I just followed the video from Lawn Fawn. Here's a video of the rest of the process!

Beary, Merry Christmas

 Hi everyone!  I'm excited to share another card using the new Gerda Steiner Designs set, Beary Merry Christmas.   This set combines some of my favorite things... reindeer and bears!

When it come to making cards, sometimes I have the whole card planned out and sometimes I stamp a bunch of images, spend time coloring the images, then design and create later.  That is what happened with this "reindeer bear". 

I stamped this bear on Tim Holtz watercolor paper, then colored him with Derwent Inktense pencils and a water brush.  I used the scalloped edges die from Unity Stamp Co to cut the black cardstock, then us an oval die to cut out the center.  

I glued these two layers to a white A2 card base, letting dry under a heavy book (always a good idea when working with watercolor paper and lots of water).  The card felt like it was missing something at this point so I used a Sakura white gel pen to trace a straight edge and free form some squiggly lines around the edges to complete the card.

This card was so much fun to make, I can't wait to see what you make with this set.  Thanks for reading!

Have a "Beary" Merry Christmas And Spread The Joy!!

 Gerda has created this fun Beary Merry Christmas stamp set.  I just love that this bear is feeling his "inner reindeer?!?"  And this is just one of two cute bears in this set.

I decided to give Mr. Reinbear a slimline card so he could share a big Merry Christmas with everyone.  I fussy cut the characters, colored with copics and paired them with a Merry Christmas die cut from foil cardstock.

Bear & reindeer:  E39, E37, E35. E34. E33. E31. E30, W8, W6

Sweater:  G07, YG09, YG13

But wait, there's one more sweet bear in this Beary Merry Christmas stamp set.  I couldn't resist making him the center of JoY!!

I stamped the images directly on cardstock and colored the wreathed bear with copics.  

Bear:  E27, E25, E15, E55, E31, W9, W7

Wreath:  G07, YG09, YG13

Stars:  Y19, Y26

I added the random dot border with a black gel pen around the edge of the card to go along with the dots around the wreath.

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree…

Happy release day everyone! I'm excited to share this Christmas card today using the new Gerda Steiner Designs set, Caroling Woodland Animals.   It's hard to believe Christmas is around the corner, but this set is getting me excited about making Christmas cards.

To create this card I broke it down into two smaller projects: the large tree background and the adorable caroling forest critters.

I wanted to create a larger tree as a background for the forest critters.  To do this I used a Misti and Tim Holtz distress watercolor pencils (using the direct to stamp method) to stamp portions of the Christmas tree from the Caroling Woodlands Animals set.  The direct to stamp method involves dipping the pencil in water for a few seconds then coloring directly on a small section of the stamp (larger sections will dry too quick) and stamping immediately.  After stamping I used a water brush to soften or move some of the color around.  I started by "stamping" the whole tree on the top, then moving the stamp and repeating with just parts of the tree to create one big tree.  In the end, I had three rows of the Christmas tree to create this 5x8 inch card.

For the caroling animals, I stamped these on Tim Holtz watercolor paper and colored using Derwent Inktense pencils and water brush.  Once these dried, I used the circle dies from Gina K Designs master layouts 3 and 7 to cut them out.  Finally, I glued all the layer to a 5x8 inch black card base, using a heavy book to keep the layers flat until dry (a necessity when using lots of water and watercolors).

To make this card I took an A2 panel of plaid cardstock. 

For the background, I die cut a rectangle panel die out of white cardstock. 

Next I colored the sweet image using copic markers. I glued it to my panel with foam tape for dimension.

Next I stamped a greeting from this set using black ink.

For a final touch, I added a brown twine.
