Thinking of You-calyptus

Hi there,

it's Tanja here and today I would like to show you a tag that I created using the Gerda Steiner Designs You're Koalafied stamp set:

  • stamp one of the adorable little koalas from the Gerda Steiner Designs You're Koalafied set with Lawn Fawn River Rock
  • color the image with Spectrum Noir Triblend Markers and add extra shading with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils
  • cut out a tag from Yupo and create an Alcohol Ink background with the colors Everglade and Pistachio
  • give the koala a little strip of kraft cardstock to sit on
  • dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Ink (Forest Moss, Peeled Paint) and thread it through the hole of the tag
  • stamp the sentiment from the same set with Archival Ink Black Soot

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,

Happy Birthday Bear!

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today with Gerda Steiner Design’s stamp set named, Birthday Bear. I already created another card using this set in a scene card. I couldn't help but use this stamp set again! It's so adorable!

For this particular card, I decided to use the ever so popular slimline line card to create a three window scene. I used a slimline die to cut out my base from patterned paper. I wanted to use square dies to cut out three different sized windows to be the focal point for each of the three images from Birthday Bear. Against a black base of 3.5 by 8.5, it really lets the critters stand out.

After coloring all of the images using similar colors reflected in the patterned paper, I added them all over the slimline card and thought it was super fun.

To finish off the card, I used all the sentiments in this set. I stamped them on black cardstock and heat embossed them using white embossing powder. I felt like there was a of empty space and figured, why not?

I have a video to show my process so I hope you check it out!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create. Come back again soon for more inspiration and ideas! Happy Crafting!

I love you....!!

Hey everyone....

It's Ashlee here with you today with a brand new card using the super adorable "Valentine cats"... (Co-ordinating dies also available)

To create this card I first started with a white card base and using a stencil I ink blended using Distress Oxide inks in the colours Mustard seed and Picked raspberry...

I then added on some yellow/white paper twine for a fun feature behind the
adorable kitty cats...

The two Valentine cats are coloured up using C Copic markers and added to the card base using foam tape for dimension!!

I stamped the sentiment "I love you" using Memento tuxedo black ink underneath the ink blended panel and finished it all off with a touch of Crater Lake CP sequins!!

A sweet card perfect for that special person...

I hope you enjoy this card and I will be back next month with more Gerda inspiration for you all!!

Hugs Ashlee

Spring bunny friends - It's a good day to be happy - Larissa

Hi everyone, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and today it is my turn again to post something on the blog from Gerda Steiner designs and this time I have made a card for my Memory dex.

I have made a card with the digital stamp Spring bunny friends from Gerda Steiner designs. I have coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils, the black glaze pen and the white gelpen and then I have fussy cut the image. I have die-cut my memory dex card with the Rolodex cutting stencil (retired) from Jilliez from white cardstock and from striped patterned paper from the Dot-stripe rainbow petite prints from Doodlebug. With a white gelpen I doodled a line around the edges of the card. I have stamped a sentiment from the stampset BB Sunflower sweetheart from My favorite things with Versamark ink on the card and then I embossed it with white embossingpowder. I have an old version of the stampset, now the sentiments are done in another font. With the Punch die flowers (CR1323-retired) from Marianne design I have die-cut a couple of flowers from white cardstock and I placed those around the image and the sentiment. I decorated the flowers with Lemon twist enamel accents from Ranger.

Puppy Mail for You

Hello everyone, it’s Karen here today. I wanted to make a happy mail card using the new “Puppy Mail” stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs.  I love to get happy mail (especially when it’s crafting supplies!), but a fun or loving note from someone is equally as good to receive and this stamp set is perfect for those cards.

Inside the card

I coloured my images with copic markers and added a few extra envelopes. I drew my envelopes but you could easily stamp the mailbox stamp again and use a few from the mail pile already on the stamp.

I then made a stencil from a “Bright Hearts” Memory Box die I had just received - in some happy mail! - and ink blended the hearts in Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick in the center of my card. Then I applied some Moonstone glimmer paste over this and let it all dry. Once it was dry I glued my puppy mail box image over the stencilled area and added a few extra envelopes to fill in the gaps. I stamped the sentiment just below my scene and the card front was done!

I love it when there’s a little something extra on a card, so on the inside, I added the two puppy images. I stamped the “I woof you” sentiment on some white cardstock, and die cut it with a speech bubble die I had in my stash (I had to do a little partial die cutting to make it fit around the words).  I ran a black marker around the edges to highlight the speech bubble, and then glued it onto the inside of my card. This was a quick and simple card to make, and it’s just so nice to have some stamps in your supplies that can make a great “thinking of you” type of card. I hope you’ll give this card a try!

Life Is Good Ice Cream Card by Karla

Hello friends! Karla back today with a shiny sweet card using the adorable I Scream For Ice Cream digital stamp in the Gerda Steiner Designs Shop! I feel like it's not summer without ice cream and these guys look so adorable - how could you not smile when you see them?!! I coloured them in with Copics after printing off on white cardstock and added a bit of white gel pen highlights to their rosy cheeks.

Some ThermoWeb Shattered Gold Foil decorates the background created with the DecoFoil Duo Gel and a Summer Sunbeams Stencil. I layered a tag and some sentiment stickers along with some puffy shiny stickers and then finished it off with some sparkly Nuvo drops. Hello summer!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out all the clear and digi stamps in the Gerda Steiner Designs Shop and have an amazing weekend!!

Big Hugs,
Karla

Whoo is having a birthday?

Hello and welcome!

It's Sandra (Fabella) on the blog today and I played another time with the awesome owls by Gerda Steiner.

For this time I choose a different size of the card:

I used a cutting die scallop frame, but I dont cut it in the whole lenght. I stopped a little bit befor the end and move the cutting die. So I an extend the lenght.

I used some tape to covering the edges of the scallop frame. Then I colored the background with distress oxide and take off the tape. For the next step I colored the little owl two times with copics and fussy cut them and sticked on the back.

Above, between and on the bottom I embossed the quote with versamark ink and white embossing powder.

After all I stick some little stars round the images. And then I stick the whole image first on dark blue cardstock and then on white cardstock.

I really hope, you like this. Have a nice day

Birthday Bear Shaker card

Hello everyone, it’s Karen here today and I’ve got a full size shaker card today made with a new stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs called “Birthday Bear”. This is an easy card to make and it even uses a surprise material!

If you would like to see a video of how I made this card on YouTube,  please CLICK HERE

I coloured in my images with Copic markers and then applied some Glossy Accents to the banner flags, the bear’s hat and the balloon. Once that was dry, I fussy cut out my images.

On an A2 size piece of pink cardstock, I ink blended some Distress Oxide inks around the edges in Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves. Once the ink was dry, I used an anti-static powder over the whole card front. I find that helps the shaker material move better, and I wanted to heat emboss my sentiment on the card front. After deciding where my images would go, I stamped my sentiment and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Now for that surprise material!  I save the cellophane envelopes that all our stamps and dies come in and use this for full size shaker cards. I cut out a rectangle from a cellophane wrapper that was approximately an inch wider than my card front all around. I centered this wrapper on my card front and then flipped them over. I used my tape runner to run a piece of tape along the bottom edge of my card front and then folded the wrapper up onto the tape and pressed it down. I repeated this with the 2 sides as well and trimmed down the excess wrapper in the corners. Now you have a pouch that is open at the top and can be filled.

The images on the front of the card can either be glued inside the pouch (in which case, adhere them before assembling the pouch), or they can be glued to the front of the pouch. I chose to glue mine to the front on the cellophane wrapper. I find it easier to do this before I fill the pouch because everything is flat at that point. Once they were glued down, I filled my pouch with shaker bits. Then, the top was adhered on the back with tape runner again and the corners trimmed. I don’t pull the last wrapper edge quite as tightly as the other edges, as this allows a bit of room for the shaker bits to move around freely.

I adhered the shaker pouch to my card base with my tape runner and then stamped my inside sentiment. I finally added the adorable bear arm with the balloon to the inside along the edge of the card, and trimmed off the excess. How much fun is that bear arm?!

This is a very quick and simple card, but it is so much fun to shake up and see all the inside bits move around. I hope you’ll give it a try!
