Stamped and Watercolored Background

Hello!  It's Lisa back today from Lisa's Creative Niche, and today's card features a fun stamped background created with the Reindeer and a Tree Stamp Set...

To create my card I started by stamping the tree in the center of my Bristol Cardstock and then stamped all of the decorations around it with a Versafine Ink.  I then used a mix of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Makers to color the images in, as well as a brush with water to pull the colors out.  Remember when working with watercolors to only work on one area at a time, so that your colors won't blend together.  Once the panel was dry I stamped and embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder, and adhered it with foam adhesive.

I also went back and added a touch of shine to my tree with a Clear Spectrum Noir Pen, because who doesn't love shine during the holidays?!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

Larissa - Smells like christmas

Hi everyone, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and I made a christmas card with a cute mouse.

Today I made a christmas card with the stampset Smells like christmas from Gerda Steiner designs. I have stamped the mouse with the cookies and then I coloured it with my Polychromos pencils and the black glaze pen. I have coloured the hat with the Clear Spectrum noir sparkle pen and then I have fussy cut the image. From white cardstock I have die-cut a rectangle with the Crea-nest-lies XXL 36 from Crealies and I adhered it on green cardstock.I used the same dies to cut a rectangle from red striped design paper from the Christmas cardboard patterns paperpack from Action (Dutch store) and I adhered that also on green cardstock. I adhered both rectangles on a white card and then I placed the image on the card with foamtape. I stamped the sentiments on white cardstock and after I cut them I adhered those also on green cardstock. I adhered the sentiment with foamtape on the card.

Naughty or Nice? - Simon Says Stamp

Hi there,

it's Tanja here and a while back I had the huge honor to publish this cute little Christmas Card for Gerda Steiner Designs on the Simon Says Stamp Blog:
Gerda came out with some fabulous new Christmas Stamp Sets this year. There really is something for everyone: Christmas Puppies, a cute Reindeer, more Reindeer, a sweet Snowman, baking Mice and Christmas Kitties.
Of course, I had to use one of the fun little cats, for I have four wonderful cats myself.

  • stamp the cute little cat and the bauble from the Gerda Steiner Designs Christmas Kitties set with Versafine Onyx Black and color the image with Derwent Inktense pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • stamp the twig from that same stamp set with Versafine Olympia Green
  • add highlights with a white gel pen and some sparkle with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter
  • apply Distress Oxide Ink Broken China through the Tim Holtz Stripes Layering Stencil to create a background
  • stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black
  • adhere the stitched focal panel to another stitched panel cut from patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Sugar Plum 6x6 paper pad before adhering all the layers to a white cardbase

I hope you got inspired.

Yours,

Reindeer Fun!

Hello!  This is Lisa Lahiff from Lisa's Creative Niche, and I'm so happy to be back as a Guest Designer.  It's been a while, but I couldn't wait to get crafty with some of the newer Gerda Steiner goodies, and in particular the Reindeer and a Tree Stamp Set...

I just love the reindeer faces!!!  So fun and each one different!  I also loved the idea of Santa reaching to put the star onto of the tree.  To create this card I started by stamping, coloring, and cutting out the reindeer and Santa.  Next, I worked on the background by stamping the tree and coloring it all in.  Finally, I adhered the reindeer, Santa, and the Christmas ornaments before going back to add snowflakes with a White Gel Pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my post.  I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with those you love!

And as always, Happy Crafting!
Lisa

It is beginning to look a lot like christmas - Larissa

Hi everyone, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and I made a new christmas card.

I made a card with the stampset Reindeer and a tree from Gerda Steiner designs. With masking paper and a lot of planning I stamped this little scene. Then I coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils and the black glaze pen. I coloured the nose of one of the reindeers red and then I coloured it with the Clear Spectrum noir sparkle pen. All the other noses are coloured with the black glaze pen and then I applied glossy accents on all the noses. On a piece of white cardstock I stamped a sentiment from the stampset Santa's wonderland from Neat and tangled. With a black pen I doodled some lines on the white cardstock. I used Soap powder ink from Jenni Bowlin to make a background for the image. I used the same ink and a little snowstamp from the set Santa's wonderland from Neat and tangled to stamp little dots on the background. On a white card I adhered pink plaid design paper from the Country fair plaid paper pack from My favorite things and then I adhered the white panel with foamtape on the card.

Cute Bear and Pie

Hi! This cute pie bears are so charming that I could not resist to color them again.

This time I used my Copic Markers for coloring the bear and a little bit clear gloss to highlight nose and eyes. For the background I used Ranger Distress Inks and a stencil, cutted with stiched dies. And as final touch I added a fillet and some sequins. Very simple. Very quick. But also very cute.

Hope to see you soon!

Christmas Kitties - Card with Surprise - Jeannie Lieu (InsideoutJeans)

Hi all! I'm back on the blog today to share this fun, simple card using Christmas Kitties. When I saw this set, I really loved it and the idea for this card popped into my head. I normally make a lot of interactive cards and usually shy away from decorating in the inside of a card.

When the recipient receives the card, it seems pretty simple. I used green patterned paper for the outside of the card, and added the sentiment and a strip of glitter paper on the edge. It appears that the grey kitty is trying to reach a Christmas ornament. For the ornament, I die cut a circle, which the circle peeks into.

Once you actually open up the card, you'll find a fun surprise: a kitty hanging from the tree. He looks like he's hanging on for dear life. So mischievous!

I was really happy with how this turned out. Such a simple card, but with a surprise for anyone who receives it.

Hope you all enjoy this card. Until next time!

Goodmorning, I am Larissa from Car-d-elicious and today I am posting a card for the monthly challenge from Gerda Steiner designs. If you participate in this challenge you have to but the image if you are participating for the first time. If you then enter the challenge with a card, you autuomatically get the image for next month for free!

For the november challenge you have to make a card with the image Balancing holiday mouse from Gerda Steiner designs. I have coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils and the black glaze pen and then I have fussy cut the image. I decided to make a shakercard with this cute mouse. With the Crea-nest-lies XXL 51, 53 and 55 from Crealies I made a rectangle panel with an oval opening in it. With the oval dies I also made an oval frame that I adhered around the oval opening. For the background of my shakercard I used black and white dotted design paper from the Do what you love - Pretty paper bloc from Marianne design. I filled the shaker with Sparkling clear 3mm and Marshmallow 4mm sequins from Pretty pink posh and star sequins from an unknown brand. I adhered the shaker part on a white card. On a piece of red cardstock I stamped a sentiment from the stampset Tiny type from Clearly besotted stamps with versamark ink and then I embossed it with white embossingpowder. With black ink I stamped a little star from the stampset Perfectly penned from Concord & 9th a couple of times on the card.
