Hi Friends! My name is Rachel Duong and I am super excited to be a guest designer for Gerda Steiner Designs! Today I am sharing a card using the "Coffee Monster" stamp set. Oh my, it is so adorable and hilarious at the same time. I think it would be too hard to be afraid of this face. And coffee is kind of a staple for me. I don't go a single day without at least a few cups.
To create this card, I stamped the monster with VersaFine Claire black ink on watercolor paper. Next I used a variety of Tim Holtz distress inks in pinks, oranges and yellow to color the monster. I outlined the image in pink, then orange and yellow mostly in the center. I painted in a shadow with these colors mixed with black.
Then I adhered the image to the card base. I wrapped orange twine around the left folded edge. Finally I added Stickles Fruit Punch glitter glue to the tiny heart on the mug.
I die cut the image using a square Gina Marie Designs die. I stamped coffee marks by Unity Stamp Company in Tim Holtz Early Espresso distress ink. Next I stamped the sentiment and cup of coffee image on a kraft card base. I colored the cup with Bic alcohol markers.
Then I adhered the image to the card base. I wrapped orange twine around the left folded edge. Finally I added Stickles Fruit Punch glitter glue to the tiny heart on the mug.
I love how this card turned out. I hope you enjoyed my fun creation. A little humor and cuteness is just so fitting to send to someone who needs a pick-me-up! And the message is so true.... how many do you know who needs coffee every morning? (I'm raising my hand!) Until next time, please don't hesitate to ask me any questions about my card. Have an awesome day!
Rachel
