Magic...

Hi there!

it's Yolanda here, from Scraping Time!

As I told you some weeks ago, I had made three cards with the new Unicorns set and this is the last one I am going to show you! I think it is my favourite of them!

I have used decorated paper for the background since I love that rainbow pattern. I also decided to make a tag-shape card with a big die. Then I die cut my clouds and put them in different positions to give some volume to the card. Those unicorns are the best and I decided not to finish my sentiment outside! It was a good way to have a card for different moments. You can write inside your final message in order to adapt it to the celebration:

Today I decided to use pastel colours for my combo since I used brighter ones for one of my last cards with this set. I completed the scene with some enammel dots and I added a stripe of decorated paper to give it some interest.

I hope you have enjoyed and I will see you in September featuring some of the new autumn stamps.

Have a good time!!

VIDEO: Creating a Moonscape featuring Bats Halloween

Hi there, all!  It's Tara and today I am so excited to be sharing a project using the brand new Gerda Steiner Designs Bats Halloween stamp set!  I am super stoked for fall and Halloween - it is my absolute favorite time of year and the best time to make cards!!  When I saw this new set I did a happy dance!  These bats are so adorable and I love that there are sentiments for occasions other than Halloween!

For this project I wanted to try my hand at a nighttime moonscape.  I have never attempted to create the light glow around the moon and though it looked like fun!  Turns out, it wasn't as tricky as I anticipated!  I like when that happens!

Once my night scene was created a I used Distress Inks to watercolor the moon to add some texture.  Using the same technique I colored in the adorable little bat!  I added a sentiment with some Liquid Platinum embossing powder (this color is divine!) and this card was done!!

Thank you all so much for stopping by! I'll see you again soon!  Bye!

Graffiti for you!!

Hi there!!

It's Yolanda here, from Scraping Time. As I told you in my last post, I made three cards with "Unicorns" stamps set that I will show you during these weeks. For this second try, (you can see the first one here) I decided to play a little bit with the funniest one hehehe or at least, it is for me!

The first time I saw him, I thought he was really angry but I looked at him again and I realised he was just shy!! That's why he wasn't able to tell his feelings to hir unicorn-girl and he decided to do a love graffiti on a wall!! Isn't it cute?? :))

He is trying to hide his brush before giving her that nice bunch of flowers.

I haven't got to tell you that I really love to tell stories with my cards although this is not based on a true story or who knows...

I have used a decorated paper for the wall and I stamped there the sentiment from the "Brush bunny" stamps set as well as the paint brush. The flowers from the Unicorn set are great to use with any critter. They are so delicated and pretty. I am sure that I will use them a lot for birthday cards or get well soon cards. I think they are proper for sympathy cards too.

I have fussy cut the unicorn and after colouring it with Spectrum Noir markers, I have put some Spectrum Noir Sparkle in some parts of the stamp. It is the first time I use it and I have to say it is very shiny and nice.

I hope you have enjoyed with my card and don´t forget Gerda Steiner Designs Instagram Giveaway!! (here) You are going to LOVE the prize: the two autumn new sets. I can tell you that they are ADORABLE!!  Good luck!!

Video: Playing with Patterned Paper featuring Playful Kittens

Happy happy Friday, all!  It's Tara from Curl E. Cue's and I, for one, am pretty stoked about the weekend happening tomorrow!  So to kick things off right, I am sharing this adorable card featuring the sweetest little kitty from the Playful Kittens stamp set!!  I just adore his little face and had to color him like my Egon (yes, he is named after Dr. Egon Spengler from the original Ghostbusters - we are just that cool).

I colored Egon in using Copic markers and then cut him out with a stitched rectangle die.  The bulk of this card is about using some really fun patterned papers in new ways.  Using a scalloped border die I created the vertical strip behind the focal piece and then muted the pattern with a velum overlay.  I used a bit of leftover paper of that same patter and cut out some of the hearts to add as accents on top of the velum.  For the sentiment on this card I used some of the little strips that come in the paper pad.  I am really bad about always ignoring the pages that have sentiments or little design squares that are meant to be cut out and used so I thought I'd give that a try.  It was just lucky that there was the perfect sentiment for my kitty!

I finished up the card with some sequins and added Glossy Accents to all of the cut out hearts to make them seem like enamel embellishments!  That way everything coordinates perfectly since it is all from the same paper pad!  The subtle gray paw prints in the background really tie everything in together!

Thank so much for joining me today!  I hope you enjoyed today's project and I'll see you again soon!  Bye!
